Han Kiju, an editor for a publishing house, is still reeling from his youth as an infantryman in the South Korean Army during Vietnam War. The burdens of guilt and alienation make his marriage barren and sabotage his career with the publishing house. When Sgt. Han's platoon was being decimated by the Viet Cong enemy during a long-range reconnaissance mission, one of his fellow soldiers slipped into insanity. The reunion with this man after the war results in Sgt. Han's need to confront the past; a tense mission where this fellow soldier caused the platoon untold carnage and death. Can he confront him in the present and take revenge as the code of combat demands, or must he refus Han is an editor and writer in Korea who served with the South Korean Army in a special unit fighting with American troops in the Vietnam War. Han has been unable to put the horrors of war behind him and leads a disconnected life, but the reappearance of a fellow soldier forces Han to relive a hellish mission behind enemy lines. WHITE BADGE is a haunting war movie that tells its story from a unique perspective, with echoes of APOCALYPSE NOW and FULL METAL JACKET. White Badge DVD In the tradition of Full Metal Jacket, Platoon and The Thin Red Line, White Badge presents a view on the Vietnam War never seen. Sgt Han suffers a classic Vietnam War syndrome. As the leader of a behind enemy lines Korean infantry unit fighting alongside the American allies, Han feels responsible for death and carnage his unit suffered at the hands of one of their own. When confronted with the culprit after the war, is Han able to take military justice into his own hands?

$9.15 This classic Monty Python comedy, directed by Pythons Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones, is a hilarious send-up of the grim circumstances of the Middle Ages as told through the story of King Arthur and framed by a modern-day murder investigation. When the mythical king of the Britons leads his knights on a quest for the Holy Grail, they face a wide array of horrors, including a persistent Black Knight, a three-headed giant, a cadre of shrubbery-challenged knights, the perilous Castle Anthrax, a killer rabbit, a house of virgins, and a handful of rude Frenchmen.
In addition to the set pieces, the film also includes the same kind of surreal animation that Gilliam contributed to the television series. Throughout the ...

$32.46 After the success of 300, director Zach Snyder turns to another comic adaptation with WATCHMEN. The smart series from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons centers on a group of masked heroes who find their talents banned in a fictional America. Someone begins to take down the former heroes one by one, and a strange character named Rorschach begins to investigate.
For those obsessed with the critically acclaimed graphic novel (which would be almost anyone who has read it), or for audiences looking for a stylish action film, WATCHMEN is worth--well--watching. But those who thought THE DARK KNIGHT was too gloomy should stay far away from Zack Snyder’s film. As far as superhero movies go, this graphic adaptation of the comic book series from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons makes even Christopher Nolan’s Batman films look like Saturday morning fare. Director Snyder and the screenwriters certainly deserve credit for crafting an adaptation of a work that has been deemed unfilmable since its 1986 release. Mammoth and mazelike, WATCHMEN follows a group of retired costumed heroes living in an alternate 1985 where Nixon is still president and fear of nuclear doomsday permeates the air. When a hero named the Comedian (an excellent Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is murdered, his former colleague--the unhinged, masked ...

| | Anger Management DVD (2003) Widescreen; Dubbed; Special Edition; Subtitled
White Badge review
$9.15 ANGER MANAGEMENT, directed by Peter Segal, looks into the life of Dave Buznik (Adam Sandler), an executive assistant at a pet clothing company. The mild-mannered but overly passive Dave is in love with his girlfriend, Linda (Marisa Tomei), yet his anxious personality keeps him from taking things further, both in their relationship and in his career. However, Dave's life takes a strange turn when he is wrongly accused of "air rage" on a flight and sentenced to mandatory anger management classes. Eccentric anger guru Buddy Rydell (Jack Nicholson) becomes Dave's therapist, but when Buddy abruptly moves in with Dave, the doctor-patient relationship takes an unusual turn.
An appropriate pairing of actors with oversized personalities, ANGER MANAGEMENT allows Nicholson to run amuck, while letting Sandler hone the mellower side of his cinematic presence. As Sandler's Dave becomes more bewildered at his predicament, Nicholson's Buddy teeters wildly between wise and rambunctious. Meanwhile, Tomei (who apparently gets more attractive as she gets older) shines in her role as Dave's beloved. Of course, no mainstream Sandler movie would be complete without a number of familiar faces in supporting and ...
