93 minute feature film DVD starring William Powell and Carole Lombard. The definitive screwball comedy, "My Man Godfrey" follows the antics of a wealthy and eccentric family when they hire a down-and-out "forgotten man" as their butler, who soon teaches them that money isn't everything. Based on the novel by Eric Hatch, this screwball comedy is a genre favorite. On a scavenger hunt for a society ball, haughty Cornelia Bullock discovers Godfrey, a dirty, dishevelled bum lurking around the city dump. She's looking for a "forgotten man" and Godfrey fits the bill perfectly. Hoping to win her first prize, she offers him five dollars to come along with her. Proud and dignified, he refuses, casting her aside. Minutes later, when her lovely younger sister Irene makes the same request, an enamored Godfrey accepts. The hunt sets off an unusual chain of events that bring Godfrey into the Bullock household as a permanent fixture. He'll become deeply embroiled in their family saga before anyone learns his true identity. Based on the novel by Eric Hatch, this screwball comedy is a genre favorite. $10.29 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination of frank subject matter with cynical humor--Altman immediately vaulted himself to Hollywood's upper ranks. Based on the novel by Richard Hooker, M*A*S*H follows a group of Mobile Army Surgical Hospital officers as they perform surgery and pass the time just miles from the front lines of the Korean conflict. Led by sardonic captains "Hawkeye" ...

My Man Godfrey film
$22.15 In his last Hollywood film, Preston Sturges crafts a powerfully rendered mix of slapstick, screwball, and melodrama in his darkest comedy ever. Rex Harrison plays Alfred de Carter, the effete and blasé classical conductor returning to New York on the eve of a great performance. Awaiting his return are his beautiful wife Daphne, her coy sister, and her brother-in-law Auguste. Alfred had asked Auguste to look after Daphne during his absence, and when August alerts Alfred that he had Daphne watched by a detective and attempts to deliver the report, the seeds of doubt are planted in an otherwise blissfully romantic marriage The superb Alfred slowly comes undone as he unwillingly lets the idea of Daphne's possible infidelity contaminate his every thought. Sirk elicits uproarious performances from the dry and evocative cast as the film leads to a masterfully complex climax: Alfred fantasizing variously gruesome, magnanimous, and gallant actions he might take, while simultaneously conducting the symphony orchestra to an enraptured audience. When Alfred attempts to act on his fantasy, ...

$9.69 Martin Lawrence returns as cross-dressing undercover fed Malcolm Turner in this good-natured sequel to the 2000 comedy hit. This time, Malcolm is working a desk job because his wife (Nia Long) wants him safe. But when his old partner is killed, Malcolm just has to dust off the momma suit and take a nanny job with a family whose workaholic dad (Tom Fuller) is the chief suspect. The kids all have problems: Kevin (Zachary Levi) likes jumping off high places and eating sand; Carrie (Chloe Moretz) needs help with her cheerleading routine; the sullen 15-year old, Molly (Kat Dennings), is turning to punk rock to get the attention of an older boy; and the pet chihuahua is pining for his old love. Big Momma Malcolm is in a position to help all of them, as well as solve the case, but meanwhile his jealous (and very pregnant wife) is on the rampage, thinking her man is off with another woman.
There's something wondrous about the sight of Lawrence dressed up as a big old wizened, sassy nanny punching out bad guys, zipping around on a jet ski, splashing mud on gorgeous models at a ritzy spa, or running in slow motion along the beach in an oversize bathing ...
