LOVE SONGS is a hits compilation with two new songs: "You Can Make History (Young Again)" and "No Valentines."
Digitally remastered by Erick Labson (MCA Music Studios, Hollywood, California).
LOVE SONGS is a career-spanning collection that takes great liberty with what it means to be a love song. It includes some of John's biggest, and most obvious, pop standards, such as "Your Song" and "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word," and reels in a few songs that have never appeared on an Elton John album, including his two Grammy-winning songs from THE LION KING and his duet with George Michael on "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me."
It also includes several ballads that stretch the boundary of love songdom. "Daniel" is a gorgeous ballad about some sort of loss; it was written as a tribute to a Vietnam vet. "Circle Of Life," one of THE LION KING tracks, is a pop song about growing up that expresses a wondrous love for the mystery of life without being about "love" at all. And the rock ballad "No Valentines," one of two new songs written for this collection with longtime lyricist Bernie Taupin, is a vicious breakup note. They almost all sound like classic love songs, though, because of John's gift for composing ballads and his sweet British tenor. No matter what he's singing about, it's easy to fall in love with the sound.
Personnel includes: Elton John (vocals, piano); James Newton Howard (conductor); George Michael (vocals); The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Producers include: Chris Thomas, Gus Dudgeon, Elton John, George Michael. Elton John Love Songs Songs Purchase Love Songs CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Elton John Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player CD (1973) Remastered
Love Songs album
$6.85 DON'T SHOOT ME I'M ONLY THE PIANO PLAYER was the first of two 1973 albums that sealed Elton John's superstardom. It included his first U.S. #1 single, the nostalgic "Crocodile Rock," along with one of his most enduring ballads, "Daniel," a veiled salute to a Vietnam vet. By now, John was at ease in almost any musical setting. While lyricist Bernie Taupin continued to feed him the ...

$10.29 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping ...

Love Songs songs
$15.19 ANN ARBOR CURRENT, JUNE 2008"...itâs the electro-jazz / power prog rock trio Aleph-1 from Ann Arbor, with their sleek sci-fi inflected synths and rapid rhythms. With staggering instrumental compositions that feel almost orchestral in structure, they still keep a distinctly jazzy improvisational looseness. Their debut self-titled album galvanizes cinematic sounding electronic odysseys that combine the fantastic urgency one might feel if we were trapped inside our computer fending off viscous viruses or rival 'red guy' motorcycle riders ala âTron;â their sound is an invigorating clash of nostalgic '50's sci-fi film vibes with kitschy UFO synth howls charged by 80's new wave buzzy grooves and prog-rock trounced rhythms. (Think: "Tortoise, Nils Petter Molaver, 70's prog rock and, of course, Dr. Dre's beats.") Live, the band can be as fiery and ferocious as an amped up jazz rampage, utilizing drums with 2 samplers, 2 synthesizers and the occasional guitar. Their debut album is a staggering journey of invigoration, melodrama and dream-pop soundscapes; the transitions are baffling (the percussion on âDBâ goes from hip/hop to speed-metal in one measure yet the flow is as natural as the sun setting); while the synths on âPlan 9â start with a Twilight Zone vibe then morph it into a house-rave blitz; and âGoodCopâ features a bass line so full of character and charm youâd think it to be born from the soulful grooves of Motown."REAL DETROIT WEEKLY, MAY 20084 STARS"The opening track is a journey featuring distinct, fuzzed and whirling synth melodies with operatic crescendos, hard-hitting percussions, warbled ...
