| Snoopy vs. The Red Baron/Snoopy & His Friends Music Review Average Rating: (4.9 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Great Fun! I wore this album out listening to it on LP years ago as a kid, so I was excited to find it for my own children here on CD Universe. After the first listen on CD, all the memories of it came flooding back. The songs are fun and easy to sing along to and in no time my children were singing along with me. This reason alone made purchasing this album a complete success in our household. What gives these songs staying power is how they stay with you well after you turn the CD off. I highly recommend this CD for children young and old! Submitted by lovens2 (Jeffersonville, IN, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Snoopy vs. The Red Baron/Snoopy & His Friends
$24.95 The career-spanning compilation GOLD is a rarity among Squeeze anthologies, including a number of rare non-LP b-sides like the Stars On 45 parody "Squabs On Forty Fab" and the solo showcase "Suites From Five Strangers" alongside favorites like "Hourglass" and "Pulling Mussels from the Shell." Remastered two-disc set. Over the course of Squeeze's 25-year career, an inexplicable number of greatest-hits compilations have surfaced (seven, to be specific), and nearly all of them have suffered from a serious flaw, whether it's the exclusion of important hit singles or the inclusion of mediocre album cuts and B-sides. The only two worthwhile compilations -- 1982's Singles 45's & Under and 1994's Greatest Hits -- both suffered somewhat by not covering the entirety of the band's career. Big Squeeze is the attempt to remedy this mess, as it is the first hits compilation that covers the band from 1977 to 1998, including most of the important singles along the way, as well as tacking on a bonus disc of B-sides. Granted, Squeeze released some great singles -- enough to substantiate a straight-up two-disc singles compilation, really -- but for a casual fan, this is truly the best introduction. Big Squeeze includes the entirety of Singles 45's & Under (save for the substitution of "Labelled With Love" for "If I Didn't Love You") and then goes on to pluck their more important later-day singles, including their biggest U.S. chart hit, 1987's "Hourglass," and their 1995 Top 20 British comeback, "This Summer." The second disc is an interesting, ...

Snoopy vs. The Red Baron/Snoopy & His Friends
$31.29 Limited Edition Enhanced Japanese pressing of this hit album by Australian rockers Wolfmother features the Enhanced Video of 'Woman' added as a bonus track. Interscope. 2006.
Includes 1 bonus track. Devoted students of the 1970s school of heavy rock, the Australian trio Wolfmother unveiled its full-length debut in early 2006 to considerable buzz. Deftly walking the line between respectful homage and blatant mimicry, singer/guitarist Andrew Stockdale sounds like Jack White channeling Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi--as opposed to Page and Plant--particularly on the stomping opener, "Dimension," while the rest of the band ably follows in Sabbath-y suit. Still, Zepp by no means gets short shrift here, as the band pulls off an acoustic-to-electric switch-up on "Where Eagles Have Been" that is more than worthy of a spot on HOUSES OF THE HOLY. Although Wolfmother won't win any points for originality, the group's commitment to executing a seamless cross between two of the best hard-rock bands ever is a fairly tough MO at which to scoff. This is guilt-free headbanging at its finest. There's no denying Australian heavy rock trio Wolfmother has been raised on rock -- specifically, raised on '70s rock. Problem is, from all appearances on their eponymous debut, they made their journey into the past via the twin gateway drugs of the White Stripes and Queens of the Stone Age, and once they dug back to the original Zeppelin and Sabbath texts (stopping along the way for some Soundgarden discs and ...

In her youth,Ellen dabbled in many instruments including accordion, clarinet, percussion, and piano beforefinding the instrument to best complement her style, the guitar. In 1989, Ellen Carol moved to Lake Louise, Alberta and there she found a mentor, WadeRafuse. I know Bridgeport is a bit farther south than the Middlesex County and Shoreline towns I usually blog about, but since it's my home town I thought I'd give a fellow Park City resi- a chance to tell his story.Deshawn Lamont Harper, who told me he grew up in Virginia, spent a few years in Atlanta, Ga. before his family moved to Bridgeport. It was in Connecticut that he said he started writing lyrics he describes as rhythm and poetry (which I just figured out stands for RAP, DUH, my dumb!) He recorded three different albums titled "Bread and Budda", "From Pain to Blessing" and most recently, "It Takes a Hood to Raise a Child." Here are images from two of his album covers... Deshawn, who is 30 now, seemed pretty pumped up about his work - but a little nervous too and not sure about how to tell me all he wanted to say. I thought he did okay for a cold phone call to someone he didn't even know."The first album "From Pain to Blessings," has songs dedicated to President George Bush another album is titled "Bread and Budda," on that one I have songs dedicated to the Senator of Bridgeport - (ex-State Senator) Ernest Newton and (former Bpt.) Mayor John Fabrizzi," Deshawn said about two controversial Bridgeport leaders who made media headlines quite a bit over the past few years. "They went through a lot of ups and downs. Hopefully they will turn around and do the right things."The third album is about how Deshawn has tried to turn himself around by taking his personal experiences and using them toward creating a more positive life. He said he formed his own publishing company called Dark Legion PublishersDBAMystory Entertainment. This third album and the upcoming autobiograpy he's written with the same title, represents his life's journey, he said, a chance to get the things in his head out there - things he's seen and experienced, but could never talk about in the open without feeling like a "snitch.""I'm walking through a real life book right now, you have to capture the moment and don't let it go," he said of the book, which he hopes to see published within the next few months. "The story is about ...
