5 stars Rare romantic soul
Leon Ware is primarily known as a songwriter of such r&b classics as "I Want You" (Marvin Gaye), "If I Ever Lose This Heaven" (Quincy Jones, Average White Band) and "Inside My Love" (sung by its co-writer, Minnie Riperton). This rare album features sensuous grooves and sexy, "Curtis Mayfield meets Marvin Gaye" styled vocals from Mr. Ware himself. Lush orchestrations, sexy but tasteful lyrics on such steamy tunes as "Body Heat" (the Quincy Jones hit), "Phantom Lover", "Comfort", "Instant Love" and "Holiday" and guest appearances by Minnie Riperton, Marvin Gaye and Bobby Womack make this album a must-have. Definitely music for romance.

An excellent idea that might be slightly disappointing in the execution, All the Number Ones collects 18 singles that topped Billboard magazine's R&B charts, all performed either by New Edition or its members in their various outside projects.
