The A-Squad is your typical group of mall-going, pizza-eating, boy-chasing, locker room-gossiping American teenagers living on the edge of perfection. Diane, the captain of the squad, is madly in love with Lincoln High star quarterback Jack Bartlett. But when Jack and Diane find themselves in an unexpected adult situation, and in desperate need of extra cash, the team, in order to help her, goes where no cheerleader has gone before: taking on a little after-school project known as bank robbery, forever changing their friendship, their futures and the nation's notion of teen spirit. SUGAR & SPICE is a wicked black comedy about high school, teenage pregnancy, and five bankrobbing cheerleaders armed with semi-automatic weapons. When Diane, (Marley Shelton), a popular high school cheerleader, gets pregnant with the star quarterback's baby, she turns to crime to support herself and her child. Fortunately, her five best friends on the cheerleading squad are, like, totally supportive of her decision! Together they devise a plan for a series of major bank heists to benefit Diane's future financial security. With a hot young cast including Mena Suvari (AMERICAN BEAUTY), Marla Sokoloff (TV's THE PRACTICE), and James Franco, SUGAR & SPICE is a teen comedy with some unusual twists. Theatrical Release Date: January 26, 2000
The original pre-production title for this film was SUGAR AND SPICE AND SEMI-AUTOMATICS, which was toned down to the softer SUGAR & SPICE before its release. Sugar & Spice Reviews: "...It's fun....McDougall offers a definite sense of style..."

Sugar & Spice film
$26.45 By all rights, THE HANGOVER should have been a minor success that did satisfactory box office and lived on through beer-laden guys’ night viewings. The marquee boasts no big-name stars, and the premise--an alcohol-soaked bachelor party--seems tried and tired. But OLD SCHOOL director Todd Phillips’s boys-night-out comedy is a blockbuster revelation that revels in raunchy jokes and happily leaves the border of propriety behind. Groom-to-be Doug (Justin Bartha, NATIONAL TREASURE) has planned an epic night in Las Vegas with his two best friends, Phil (Bradley Cooper, YES MAN) and Stu (Ed Helms, THE OFFICE), and his fiancée's awkward brother, Alan (comedian Zach Galifianakis). But it turns out that they partied a little too hard: Phil, Stu, and Alan wake up the next morning with a missing groom, a tiger in the hotel-room bathroom, a baby in the closet, and no memory of the night before.
Though the funny script glories in the gutter, the credit for most of the film’s laughs goes to the excellent cast. Phillips’s OLD SCHOOL had Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, and Luke Wilson, but even though THE HANGOVER’s cast members aren’t A-listers (yet), they’re ...

$7.05 The hilarious DONOVAN'S REEF, one of John Ford's rare but memorable forays into comedy, is set on the South Sea island of Haleakoloha, where two navy buddies have decided to stay after World War II. Michael "Guns" Donovan (John Wayne) and Aloysius "Boats" Gilhooley (Lee Marvin), who like to celebrate their mutual birthday every year by trying to beat the hell out of each other, are enacting the ritual in Guns's bar, Donovan's Reef. Dr. William Dedham (Jack Warden), scion of a wealthy family and another societal dropout, breaks up the fight after an appropriate amount of damage has been done. He soon learns that his very proper daughter, Amelia (Elizabeth Allen), is about to arrive from Boston, unaware that he's had three children by a Polynesian princess. Dedham persuades Guns to pretend to be the father of his kids during the visit in order to be spared Amelia's wrath. While Dedham's daughter is initially put off by the juvenile antics of Donovan's crew, the tavern owner's feelings toward her are far more positive. After she beats him in a swimming competition, she begins to see his appeal. Filmed in Kauai, Hawaii, this entertaining family-oriented comedy is stoked with broad physical gags and the inspired tomfoolery of the cast. The most notable performance belongs to Wayne, who ends his long, hugely successful, and artistically ...

$6.99 Plunging headfirst into history, director Terry Gilliam fearlessly brings the logic of children's fairy tales to bear as he navigates through myth and legend in a bizarre, ingenious retelling of THE WIZARD OF OZ. A boy and six good-natured little persons careen through time-twisting interactions with Napoleon, Robin Hood, and Agamemnon, among others, with a map the little people stole from their employer, the Supreme Being. But their intention is to rob their way through the past, which does not make their boss happy. Meanwhile, Evil is after the map in order to become the Supreme Being himself. The result is an extraordinarily visual extravaganza that overflows with Gilliam's ecstatic vision. The film is shot from a child's viewpoint, both through ...

$6.29 If the world needs even more proof that skateboarding is a mainstream institution as opposed to an underground phenomenon, GRIND does the trick. Casey La Scala's lighthearted adventure introduces three friends who have just graduated from high school. Eric (Mike Vogel) is determined to make it as a professional skater. He convinces the college-bound Dustin (Adam Brody) and wisecracking Matt (Vince Vieluf) to join him on the road for a summer of contests, with the hopes of getting sponsored by superstar Jimmy Wilson (Jason London). Once they manage to recruit the smooth-talking Sweet Lou (Joey Kern) and his trusty van, the foursome hits the road. Things don't go as planned, however, to the point where Eric considers giving up. But that's when Jamie (Jennifer Morrison) enters the picture. Sweet, pretty, and a radical ...

$10.19 Directed by Martin Campbell, GOLDENEYE makes the transition to a more modern image for the James Bond series. Bond's out-of-date womanizing is presented with a feminist challenge from the newly cast Judi Dench as an impenetrable M, and Samantha Bond as a wiser and more forthright Moneypenny. The action sequences, replete with helicopter hijinks and copious explosions, are complex and stylish, making the film a polished sensation.
This installment in the series introduces actor Pierce Brosnan in the role of suave, debonair, irresistible 007. Despite the end of the Cold War, James Bond still finds himself pitted against nefarious Russians who want to rule the world. This time around, his enemies are a gang of mobsters and former military men who have gained access to the Goldeneye, which can cut off electrical currents in London. Alec Trevelyan (Sean Bean) is the leader, with General Ourumov (Gottfried John) an additional threat. Sizzling Bond babe Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen) is the sleek robber who, with Ourumov, successfully steals the Goldeneye, which the villains plan to use in their quest to control ...
