This is a Various Artists mix CD compiled and mixed by Tracey Thorn, Ben Watt.
Everything But the Girl's contribution to the BACK TO MINE series is a pure chill-out mix, perfect for late-night lounging. Low-key, atmospheric folk-pop by Beth Orton and Mary Margaret O'Hara bleeds into down-tempo electronica and hip-hop from DJ Cam, Model 500, and Dubtribe Sound System. As one might expect from the uber-cool Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn, the set is sophisticated, well sequenced, and perfectly modulated.
Down-to-earth, soulful vibes emanate on the Roots's "Silent Treatment," balancing out more abstract, ambient outings like Carl Craig's "A Wonderful Life." The set closes out on Donny Hathaway's "Someday We'll All Be Free," which serves as a benediction, casting a bright, hopeful light over the entire listening experience. This collection is perfect for moody background, but--unlike many chill-out compilations--it also rewards concentrated listening.
Latest installment of the successful Back To Mine series. Tracey Thorn & Ben Watt have selected and compiled their interpretation of the ultimate chill out series. Seamlessly mixed by Ben Watt, he invites you into a musical journey though his and Tracey's music collection. 12 tracks. 2001 release.

Back To Mine album
$38.49 DREAMS is a 4-CD box set compiling in chronological order tracks by the Allman Brothers Band, as well as tracks by bands featuring one or more member of the Allman Brothers Band and solo performances by Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts.
Recorded between 1966 & 1988. Includes a 32-page illustrated booklet and liner notes by John Swenson.
Like nearly all box sets, DREAMS has plenty to recommend it-and a few nagging drawbacks. The set's chief shortcoming is its two conflicting goals: providing an overview of the Allmans' history, thus attracting buyers seeking the ultimate hits package, and including enough unreleased tracks and rarities to appeal to the band's most devoted fans. As a result, DREAMS is neither the definitive Allman Brothers collection nor the gift to hardcore fans that, say, ...

| | Everything But The Girl Walking Wounded CD (1996)
Back To Mine music CDs
$5.95 Ben and Tracey went clubbing last night and decided to go straight from the dance floor to the studio. They emerge with WALKING WOUNDED, an album that features Tracey's plaintive vocals backed by layers of electronic percussion. Tracey's soul-baring singing pulls you into the songs--we ride with her atop waves of drum beats and dreamy orchestrations in dance styles that vary from jungle to hip-hop to house. The combination brings about an interesting sensation: The beats move your feet while her wistful voice eases you into a state of relaxation. Melody and melancholy are wrapped together in these dance-sized pieces. So are crossover and hit: In Europe, a remix of the title song ...

Back To Mine album
$9.29 Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn (the music and voice, respectively, behind EBTG) have been recording since the early 1980s, they have moved from bossa nova to acoustic rock to lush, orchestral pop to drum-and-bass and beyond.
