IF YOU ARE REALLY INTERESTED IN THE HISTORY OF COUNTRY MUSIC THIS IS A MUST HAVE DISC. THESE ARTISTS WERE MIXING POP/ROCKABILLY AND COUNTRY TOGETHER BEAFORE THERE WERE OUTLAWS. THE CALIFORNIA SCENE BE IT BAKERSFIELD OR HOLLYWOOD WAS WAY AHEAD OFTHE CURVE. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMENDED.

 Pure, Honest country
Wynn Stewart sounds surprisingly fresh and modern, despite the fact that these recordings are 40 years old. That only shows that good music never gets out-dated. The sound is described as "hardbitten, guitar-driven west-coast country music" on the CD cover. He`s compared to artist like Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. I think he is much better than these two guys, but he never became famous. This he would sertainly have deserved. There are 18 songs on this CD with Wynn Stewart. A few of these are to "harbitten" for my taste, that`s wy I`ve given him 4 stars rather than 5. I can recomend this CD to anyone who is really interested in country music. Wynn Stewart is an important artist in the history of country music.
