Joe Bonamassa Blues Deluxe CD (2003) Top Seller
Ignition!: Brian Setzer '68 Comeback Special album for sale As the electric guitar ace Joe Bonamassa was so strongly inspired by blues and blues-oriented six-stringers (i.e., Clapton, Johnny Winter), many of his fans would politely pester him about doing a disc of blues standards. Originally done as a lark, the results of such a session were deemed by Bonamassa good enough to be released--hence, BLUES DELUXE, on which he covers some lesser-known songs and includes three originals. Of course, his fierce, scorching guitar is center stage. If axe-men such as Peter Green, Rory Gallagher, and Buddy Guy are your cup of tea, this DELUXE item is a necessity.
Recorded at Unique Studios, New York, New York. Includes liner notes by Harris Cohen.
Personnel: Joe Bonamassa (vocals, guitar); Jon Paris (harmonica); Benny harrison (Hammond B-3 organ); Eric Czar (electric bass); Kenny Kramme (drums).

Brian Setzer Orchestra / Brian Setzer Boogie Woogie Christmas CD (2002)
Ignition!: Brian Setzer '68 Comeback Special songs "The Nutcracker Suite" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
The Brian Setzer Orchestra/Brian Setzer: Brian Setzer; Willie Murillo, Kevin Norton , Kyle Palmer (trumpet); Alex Henderson (trombone); John Hatton (bass instrument); Matthew Zebley, Dennis Farias, Bernie Dresel, Ray Herrmann, Jim Youngstrom, Tim Misica, Don Roberts , George McMullen, Craig Woods , Robbie Hioki.
He wears a pompadour, hangs around with jazz musicians, and "vintage" may as well be his middle name, but Brian Setzer is a retro-king who now brings a jump-blues sensibility to the holiday of ole St. Nick with BOOGIE WOOGIE CHRISTMAS. Setzer's clearly having fun tearing into Elvis's perennial "Blue Christmas" and does equally well pumping up warhorses like "Jingle Bells" and "Winter Wonderland" as well as digging up the Leiber-Stoller nugget "Santa Claus Is Back In Town." Anther nod to Presley comes via the recruitment of EP's film co-star Ann-Margret for a seductive reading of "Baby It's Cold Outside."
Equally impressive is the range this Long Island native shows, whether utilizing an arrangement of Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite" influenced by Les Brown and his Band of Renown, or the cool jazz vibe dripping off the self-penned "So They Say It's Christmas." After all the high-flying heroics, Setzer ends on a calm note with a one-two punch of "O Holy Night" and an a cappella rendition of the traditional "The Amens," both of which would have fit perfectly on one of the King's reverential gospel albums.

Brian Setzer Rockabilly Riot, Vol. 1: A Tribute to Sun Records CD (2005)
Ignition!: Brian Setzer '68 Comeback Special buy CD music Since his days leading rockabilly revivalists the Stray Cats in the 1980s, Brian Setzer has been the unofficial, modern-day ambassador of '50s rock & roll. With 2005's ROCKABILLY RIOT!: VOLUME ONE, Setzer pays homage to Sun Records, the label that helped define the genre. Focusing on the years 1954 to 1957, Setzer replicates the rockabilly sound of Sun's golden era by using vintage instruments, and arrangements that include urgent acoustic guitar rhythms and rocking roadhouse piano.
RIOT covers well-known songs originally cut by Johnny Cash ("Get Rhythm") and Carl Perkins ("Blue Suede Shoes"), alongside tunes by more obscure artists like Billy Lee Riley ("Flyin' Saucer Rock and Roll") and Kenny Parchman ("Tennessee Zip"). Setzer also wrangled musical help from artists who were part of the early rock & roll scene. Famed vocalists The Jordanaires were brought aboard to lend their trademark harmonies to the toe-tapping shuffle "Lonely Weekends," the honky-tonk "Stairway to Nowhere" and twang-soaked "Flatfoot Sam." Setzer also recruited Jumpin' Gene Simmons (not to be confused with the Kiss bassist) to help recreate the former's boogie-woogie "Peroxide Blonde in a Hopped Up Model Ford." A musical time machine, RIOT is a treat for fans of Setzer's Stray Cats and solo work, and for devotees of the Sun Records catalogue.

Personnel: Brian Setzer (vocals, guitar); Kevin McKendree (piano); Bernie Dresel (drums, background vocals); Mark Winchester, The Jordanaires (background vocals).

Stray Cats Runaway Boys: A Retrospective '81-'92 CD (1997)
Ignition!: Brian Setzer '68 Comeback Special songs Offering up a bracing shot of rock & roll revivalism in the midst of the synth-loving 1980s New Wave era, the Stray Cats were utterly anachronistic and undeniably charming, a point driven home by this well-selected 25-track compilation. With its '50s greaser look and its no-frills guitar/bass/drums lineup, the Long Island, New York-based trio brought nothing particularly new to the table, but in singer/guitarist Brian Setzer, the rockabilly group had both a top-notch song stylist and a genuinely charismatic frontman, as best exemplified on the swaggering "Rock This Town" and the lusty "(She's) Sexy + 17." Other highlights of RUNAWAY BOYS include a twangy take on the Motown classic "You Can't Hurry Love" and the lovelorn "I Won't Stand in Your Way."
Includes liner notes by Ira Robbins.
Compilation producer: Joe Pheifer.
Personnel: Brian Setzer (vocals, guitar); Slim Jim Phantom (drums).

Brian Setzer Nitro Burnin' Funny Daddy CD (2003)
Ignition!: Brian Setzer '68 Comeback Special album for sale Brian Setzer deserves his due for continually shuffling the stylistic deck. Renowned for the greased-up rockabilly of his breakthrough band, the Stray Cats, Setzer went on to roots-rock solo albums and, in the 1990s, his popular big-band swing outfit, the Brian Setzer Orchestra. All the while, he managed to keep things fresh and varied, while remaining true to the nostalgic, hopped-up rock & roll at the center of all his projects. Though NITRO BURNIN' FUNNY DADDY doesn't break new ground for Setzer, it represents the range of his experiments under one cover. And, as the roaring guitars on "Don't Trust a Woman (In a Black Cadillac)" suggest, the album rocks without reservation.
Setzer's classic greaser mode is accounted for on "Ring, Ring, Ring" and "Smokin' 'N Burnin'" (his twangy, blazing guitar leads are right up front), and on the '50s-style ballad "To Be Loved," which features doo-wop harmonies. However, Setzer mitigates his rock fixations with an exploration of bluegrass and country styles. "When the Bells Don't Chime," for example, is pure mountain music, and Setzer's banjo playing is nearly as impressive as the six-string virtuosity he displays elsewhere. Fans of the singer/songwriter/guitarist will relish NITRO BURNIN' FUNNY DADDY, a diverse set of Setzer's always-appealing, retro-styled music.
Included bonus CD single "Luck Be A Lady."

Recorded at Unit A, Palm Springs, California.
Personnel: Brian Setzer (vocals, guitar, banjo); Johnny "Spaz" Hatton (bass); Bernie Dresel (drums, percussion); Julie Reiten, Joie Shettler (background vocals).
