| | Vince Neil Carved In Stone CD Vince Neil Discography of CDs
(4 Customer Reviews)
By the time Vince Neil got around to releasing his second solo album, the good-time, sleazy glam-metal of the '80s had transformed into a dark, dour grind in the '90s. His debut record, Exposed, didn't acknowledge the change, and it didn't perform very well. Carved in Stone does try to keep up to date, much like the eponymous effort from his former band, Mötley Crüe. Like that album, Carved in Stone is massively flawed. Experimenting with hip-hop and industrial beats, as well as found sounds and samples, Neil has created a record that appeals neither to an imaginary new audience, nor to his old fans. The album has its moments, which all occur when he sticks to his tried-and-true three-chord sleaze-metal, but the album is by and large a failure. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

| Carved In Stone Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) Great, underrated, album Got this on cassette when it first came out, and recently again on CD. Vary good album, which was unfortunately "ahead of it's time", and probably ignored due to Vince not being taken seriously based on MC. Deserved to be bigger (hell, deserved to be known at all). way better then his first you wouldn't think vince neil could get this deep... or this dark. but it works. Submitted by steve (Bristol, RI) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
prelude to the generation swine this is vince neil, with a more hip-hoppy feel. if you absolutely hate rap-rock then don't buy it. if you liked generation swine (and tommy's solo stuff) you will appreciate this album. it kinda shows how drunk vince really was in 1995, but in a good, current edge-kinda way Submitted by motley_scrue (illinois) Was This Review Helpful? | | Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis CD (1995) Remastered
Carved In Stone album
$7.59 Let us all be thankful that Ozzy's retirement didn't stick. It supposedly lasted for three days, after which he got bored and started working on this project. Heavy, riff-intensive tunes, progressive song structures and a little psychedelia give OZZMOSIS a definite Sabbath flavor. Ozzy must have been in touch with whatever inspired early classics like PARANOID and MASTERS OF REALITY. Witness the extremely chunky "Thunder Underground," which can stand up next to "Sweet ...
