Butterfly Jones features two former members of the band dada, guitartist/vocalist Michael Gurley and drummer Phil Leavitt. Any fan of the dada catalog will enjoy Butterfly Jones' debut release, "Napalm Springs"

||Napalm Springs a treat for the ears|
The one consolation for fans of the now defunct dada is the new Butterfly Jones release. Michael Gurley and Phil Leavitt have stayed true to their past, and yet have ventured into new territories with this album.

||A New Butterfly Takes Wing.|
Rising from the metaphorical ashes of 90's 'power cult-rockers', dada, isn't the traditional glowing phoenix, but a butterfly. Under the name Butterfly Jones, two-thirds of the band who said more with the words "I'm going to Dizz Knee Land" than a whole team of Super Bowl winners, have regrouped, refined and re-defined their music.

As a fan of Dada back in the day, I was excited when a friend told me that two of the former members had started a new band.

||If you can't have dada....|
The music is terrific... all original,yet you can hear the influences of other musical artists (particularly the Beatles, for me anyway!) The lyrics are intelligent and insightful, which I find in scarce supply in much of today's Top 40 music.
