Standard Screen; Soundtrack English; Sensor Matic The wealthy owner of a haunted mansion believes his home (which has been dubbed "Hell House" due to a history of bizarre happenings therein) might provide the answer to the phenomenon of life after death. To prove his theory, he enlists the help of four brave psychic investigators whom, to acquire the situation in it's entirety, set up residence in the dark and mysterious abode. Soon after, the team are nearly driven to insanity as they slowly begin to discover how the mansion got it's gloomy moniker. An atmospheric and menacing film from the director of EYEWITNESS (1971). Legend Of Hell House Movie Review Average Rating: (3.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews The best Old time Horror flick If you are a horror buff, you must see this movie- It is very good especially for the time it was made! Submitted by kaleigh1974 (Hull, GA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Classic Horror Movie for the Thinking Person! The Legend of Hell House details a group of individuals who are commissioned by a rich old man to determine if there is life after death by investigating the "Mount Everst" of haunted houses. A researcher, a mental medium and a physical medium each apply their unique talents to find out the answer. Great horror movie is more mental and special effects. Great screenplay by Richard Matheson. Roddy McDowal, Pamela Franklin and Clive Revill star. If you look close you'll see Peter Bowles of "To the Manor Born" fame as the assistant of the rich man.

oldschool British horror at its best Excellent chilling atmosphere from the start and its the one thing most modern day horror films lack today is mood and atmosphere Submitted by aiivanof71 (andrei Qld, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
The house looked like it should be haunted Eerie atmosphere sans ghost; Scorsese's The Age of Innocence is more horrifying than this movie. Submitted by tintin84105 (Woods Cross, UT, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
True suspense This film is old and has not special effects like others made more recently but it has what is in my opinion much more fundamental: ambience. You can feel the atmosphere of true suspense every minute. Submitted by Rivadavia (Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$14.79 This gleefully deranged cult favorite marked the feature debut of Jack Hill (COFFY, THE SWITCHBLADE SISTERS) and one of the final screen appearances of horror icon Lon Chaney Jr. The story takes place at the home of the Merrye family, victims of a strange disease that degenerates its victims to a pre-human, cannibal state. The sole remaining survivors are the family chauffeur, Bruno (Chaney), sexually precocious sisters Elizabeth (Beverly Washburn) and Virginia (Jill Banner) and their animal-like brother Ralph (Sid Haig). The kids like to stalk and kill anything that gets into the yard, including an unlucky telegram messenger (Mantan Moreland), and when some ...

Legend Of Hell House DVD
$6.55 Jesse Peretz follows up his subdued first feature, FIRST LOVE, LAST RITES, with this outrageous comedy, shot on digital video. The story follows brothers Graham (Paul Rudd) and Allen (Romany Malco) Granville as they make their way from America to small-town France. It appears that their mysterious great-uncle has died, bequeathing upon them an enormous chateau. Excited to sell the property and make a healthy profit, the brothers meet unexpected conflict when they arrive. The sullen employees of the chateau--including butler Jean (Didier Flamand) and servant Isabelle (Sylvie Testud)--are not too excited about the prospect of leaving their familiar environment. To make matters worse, they have a hard time comprehending how Graham and Allen could be brothers (an honest confusion, considering Graham is white and Allen is black). As Graham and Allen (who has begun to refer to himself ...

Legend Of Hell House movie DVD
$9.65 After three years without a studio release, quirky Icelandic songstress Bjork reappeared in full force with 2004's MEDULLA, an album built exclusively around vocal tracks. Continuing on her lifelong trajectory of experimentation, the album is one of her most challenging to date, belying the simplicity of all-vocal source material with the layered complexity and production of the album. Emotional, intimate, and almost physically affecting in its sensuality, the record incorporated the talents of many contributors. INNER PART OF AN ANIMAL PLANT STRUCTURE - THE MAKING OF MEDULLA allows viewers a glimpse of the process that was so vital to the fulmination of this masterpiece. The behind-the-scenes documentary features appearances by Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle), as well as the world's greatest human beatboxers, Rahzel (The Roots) and Dokaka, an Inuit throat singer, and an Icelandic choir, among many others. The film follows Bjork over ...
