| | Nelly Furtado Whoa Nelly CD Nelly Furtado Discography of CDs
The enhanced British edition includes two additional tracks and a video.
On WHOA NELLY, young songstress Nelly Furtado defies expectations by mixing and matching styles and approaches. The overriding production aesthetic includes R&B/hip-hop loops, beats, and samples mated with pure pop touches and some quirky electronic swoops and lurches. Furtado's songs combine hip-hop attitude with occasional Latin rhythmic accents, but the most striking aspect of this recording is the lyrics.
While it wouldn't be difficult to imagine these arrangements being completely effective framing generic pop sentiments, Furtado places no constrictions on her lyrical muse, using unusual imagery, odd syntax, and inventive scenarios that immediately set her apart from the Top 40 crowd. References to a "Mobius strip," "proper grammar," and the "North American dream" are the rule rather than the exception in Furtado's pleasingly left-field style. Her vocals and the production are so seamless that if you're not paying attention, the unusual lyrics might slip right by. If that happens, Furtado will have made some real headway in subverting the pop mainstream.
UK edition of the hit 2000 album includes four bonus tracks. 'Oude Estas', 'I Feel You' feat. Esthero, 'My Love Grows Deeper' (Single Version) & the CD-ROM video for the first single, 'I'm Like A Bird'.
"I'm Like A Bird" won the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Personnel includes: Nelly Furtado (vocals); Field (guitar); Camara Kambon (piano); Mike Elizondo (bass); Russ Miller (drums); Luis Orbegoso (congas, toms) Victor Rebelo (percussion); Daniel Stone (triangle).

| | Turks & Caicos Mass Choir Behold! Live In Chicago CD (2002)
Whoa Nelly songs
$12.95 "We want to win souls for the Kingdom of God... be a light in a dark world... and nurture the spiritual, social and personal growth of our members". Our goal is to harvest a cross-section of denominational and ethnic personalities bridging the gap through the impartation of a practical expression-'the love of 'God' for the redemption of souls through music ministry. These are but some of the goals of the Turks and Caicos Mass Choir, founded on January 11, 1997 by Shaun Malcolm and Craig Archibold whose initiation attracted sixty (60) angelic voices in pursuit of proclaiming the 'good news' 'the gospel' in song to the Turks and Caicos communities and indeed the world. Shaun, who serves as the choir's Executive Director, Craig as Musical Director and aboard of directors including Ruth Ariza, Dwaine Taylor, Delma Harvey and Carol Mills to organize the cross-denominational choir with representation from six of the eight inhabited islands in the Turks and Caicos chain. Besides blending soprano, alto, tenor and base vocalist and instruments of seven musicians to create glorious music, the choir serves as a catalyst to develop the talents of the country's youth through disciplinary vocal and ensemble training strategies. With an enduring desire, dedication and commitment the TCMC has attain a high degree of professionalism inspiring others organizations to give their utmost consideration to the aforementioned disciplines when pursuing music ministry. Given the geographical layout of the Turks and Caicos Islands, the choir has two functioning chapters on two separate islands, (Grand Turk and Providenciales-68 miles apart). In an effect to cultivate melodious harmonies, the Musical Director orchestrates rehearsals twice weekly on each island duplication the use of contemporary gospel recording and original composition and arrangements. It is inevitable that separate rehearsals are staged, however, when the entire choir assembles to minister, all are on the same wavelength. Fortunately, that seems to happen naturally, for the choir is self-described as 'a group of people who love God, the Creator and desire to do His will' members often boast of the unconditional love they express amongst themselves. " We hope the world will see and feel this intrinsic quality through our singing and in our day to day interactions, the bread of love woven between is a pivotal concept and practice that has and will indeed sustain us for many years to come".In ...

$18.99 A note from Dan Crary:Some days start well. After a crashed computer, downloads that didn’t (download), and deadlines that did (go dead) today started nicely with the music of Ear Candy finally arriving and sweetening up the summer morning with some beautiful stuff. Mind you, I had my doubts; I always have doubts about yet another steel-string guitar instrumental project, especially my own, as to whether it will have enough freshness, originality, virtuosity, dynamics, taste, and a little familiarity, to add up to something people will enjoy, return to, recommend, and also purchase. But happily with this project, the answer is yes, yes, yes, and yes again.Todd and Robin are pals and collaborators who obviously have made it to the same page musically… they weave in and out of each others musical space with expertise and grace. The ...
