Wild Dogs album for sale Product Description
Wild Dogs album for sale by Rods was released Sep 03, 1997 on the High Vaultage label. Like many American heavy metal bands of the late '70s and very early '80s, the Rods enjoyed a far warmer welcome overseas than in their native land, which was still suffering from a double whammy of the painful disco hangover and its resulting music business recession. And the Rods were among the "lucky" few who at least had major record deals on their home turf (peers like Twisted Sister and Manowar were signed to foreign indies), which is how the blue-collar metal trio found itself touring its eponymous first album in the U.K. as support to Iron Maiden and other major acts. Wild Dogs CD music contains a single disc with 15 songs. ...See Full Description

LATER SAW THEM OPEN FOR JUDAS PRIEST AND KROKUS THEIR THE WHOLE REASON I WENT TO THE SHOW. TO THIS DAY I STILL LISTEN TO THERE MUSIC WHICH NEVER GETS OLD. WORTH BUYING AND KEEPING FOR GOOD OLD TIMES. DON'T HEAR MUSIC LIKE THE RODS ANYMORE. I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THEY WERE AHEAD OF THEIR TIME LIKE OTHER BANDS OF THAT ERA. By clarencebluesman (san antonio , tx) |
| Wild Dogs : A Fine 2nd Effort. I first heard this album in 1983 and it still sounds as good today as it did then.17 years has not diminished this fine record, surely one on the finest releases in the NWOBHM era.The Rods comprised Dave Feinstein,a sensational guitarist and vocalist.Carl Canedy,a blistering drummer with all the skills and Garry Bordonaro,an excellent bassist and vocalist. These three musicians played some of most exciting Heavy Metal in their era,and were one of the tightest three piece bands anywhere. This album comprises some of their greatest recorded tracks and was recorded in England at Park Gate Studios in February and March of 1982.Side one opens with the sensational track"Too hot to Stop",definately one of the best bits of boogie/metal anyone will ever here. That track starts the trend for a fantastic journey through the rest of the tracks...all of them worth a listen. Each track is full of the power and energy that made the Rods such a hot act in the US,the UK and Europe in the early 1980's.Definate standout tracks include Burned By Love,No Sweet Talk Honey, and the blistering final cut,The Night Lives to Rock, which incidently, was a standout track in their live performances of the period. If any album is worthy of the phrase"Hot To Trot And Too Hot To Stop!" ,this one is.The Rods were one of New York's finest live acts and this album is a testament to their greatness.
