Rollins and Hall are two of the Greatest Living Legends
Approximately 40 years later, this unorthodox recording still deserves the 5 stars it received from Down Beat in 1964. Rollins was in a tough period, reeling from the avant garde freight Trane that was sweeping the Jazz World, trying to find his own niche and hold his title as the greatest living Tenor. The recording is in the same period where he was playing at night on the Williamsburg Bridge and is a true collector's item. Until the advent of the CD, this side was out of print (from the mid 1960's until 1986). Sonny's own Oleo is a classic and Jim Hall shows why he has always been a cut above the rest as a cliche free, improvisor. Grab this one.

I don't think this has Jim Hall as the previous reviewer stated. The first three tracks are live and feature Don Cherry not Jim Hall. It still features killer playing however.
