| | Serge Gainsbourg Histoire De Melody Nelson CD (1971) With Book; Deluxe Edition
T'As Beau Pas Etre Beau
$13.79 Brimming with lust, drama, and dark humor, HISTORIE DE MELODY NELSON is widely acknowledged as Gainsbourg's masterpiece. The 1971 release was criminally ignored outside France-despite the godfather of French pop's decade of cutting-edge songwriting. It's now something of a cult ...

T'As Beau Pas Etre Beau
$11.79 On the fourth album from Vas, vocalist Azam Ali and her partner, multi-instrumentalist Greg Ellis, have moved away from the sparse musical arrangements of their past and have introduced a new, elaborate sound that incorporates every instrument in the world beat library. Often favorably compared to Dead Can Dance and Axiom of Choice, Vas evolves its sound on FEAST OF SILENCE in a way that's sure to please fans and introduce the duo to a whole new audience. Guitar, bass, ...
| | Steel Pulse True Democracy CD (1982) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
T'As Beau Pas Etre Beau
$9.29 This 1982 release, Steel Pulse's first for Elektra, marks the band's move toward a more buoyant, pop-inflected sound. TRUE DEMOCRACY does not have the edgy roots feel of albums like HANDSWORTH REVOLUTION; instead, it demonstrates the group's synthesis of reggae rhythms with high production values and well-crafted melodies. But while the album's stylistic corners may be sanded for radio-ready accessibility, TRUE DEMOCRACY contains some of the band's boldest, most explicitly political songwriting.
The opener, "Chant a Psalm," invokes the names of biblical figures and puts the listener on notice of the album's conscious, spiritually minded tone. There are classic Rasta themes, such as "Worth His Weight ...

| | Rough Guide To Astor Piazzolla CD (2005)
T'As Beau Pas Etre Beau
$13.15 Astor Piazzolla was one of the greatest musicians to emerge from Argentina, one who took the tango and made it into an art form that stretched between jazz, classical, and even rock, while never losing sight of its soul in the bars of Buenos Aires. This excellent collection covers those facets very adequately, from the cool jazz meets tango mood of "20 Years Ago" with saxophonist Gerry Mulligan through "Libertango" (probably best known in its Grace Jones version) to the sweeping three "Tanguedia" tracks. Piazzolla ...

$7.59 For Frankie J's 2005 album, THE ONE, the Mexican-born crooner offers up an impressive collection of songs helmed by a noteworthy array of producers, including Mario Winans and Irv Gotti. And while these established music-makers could have turned out an Usher clone, the man born Francisco Javier Bautista maintained enough ...

| | Cody Walden Songs Stories & Bold Face Lies CD (2009)
T'As Beau Pas Etre Beau
$12.69 Cody Walden is a 23 year old songwriter/storyteller from Hinesville, Georgia. His love for music developed at an early age listening to artists such as Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, and Don Williams. As a young boy Cody would often mimic his heroes and their live performances with an old guitar given to his mother by Cody's late grandfather. In the 4th grade Cody and a close friend entered the Joseph Martin Elementary School Talent Show and performed the Garth Brooks hit "Rodeo". Cody said "me and my buddy Ryan wanted to appear as Garth and Ty England for the performance. We each had an electric guitar and a big ol' cowboy hat that we bought at a local flea market. I know we looked rediculous, but we had a good time..." As Cody matured and navigated his way through middle and high school he enjoyed and studied the sounds of Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Eagles, The Allman Brothers, and The Marshall Tucker Band. He credits his father for turning him on to these groups. After graduating from Liberty County High School in 2004, Cody enrolled at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in Tifton, Georgia. The Saturday before classes started Cody and a two friends were caught by the campus police with a cooler full of ice cold beer. Since the trio were only 18 they were each charged with possesion of alcohol by a minor and taken to the Tift County Jail for the night. Soon after, Cody sat down and wrote "Caught", a funny, factual song, about a campus police officer and the events of that crazy night. The catchy tune quickly caught ...
