My swing House Record productions
Ray McKinley and His Orchestra (1946-1949) CD music As with all First Heard Records and Swing House Records, whether for my own manufacture or for other manufacturers, they are all recorded & researched and tape mastered & edited & written- up by me, Christopher "Chris" Anthony Pirie, the labels`owner, from my personal collection, either from my London address or my Norfolk address. Ray McKinley and His Orchestra (1946-1949) buy CD music This particular production was made at the request of my friend Karl Knudsen, late founder & owner of Storyville Records & Videos, and is the first of several that I produced for him. Ray McKinley and His Orchestra (1946-1949) songs The previous reviewer from Copenhagen quite rightly enthuses about Eddie Sauter`s `Hangover Square` but to estimate Sauter`s talent beneath Duke Ellington & Billy Strayhorn overlooks Eddie Sauter`s advancement of Swing orchestration which took the music further along the developmental stage than either Duke Ellington or Strayhorn. Ray McKinley and His Orchestra (1946-1949) album for sale Indeed I have previously noted in my published writings that Eddie Sauter is , arguably, THE Swing Arranger-Orchestrator of the Swing Era 1923-1980. So a Five Star rating (the maximum) for this orchestral record is most fitting.

Fantastic charts
Ray McKinley and His Orchestra (1946-1949) CD music The works of Eddie Sauter for this band is awesome. This is some of the best orchestration for big bands ever apart from Ellington and Strayhorn. The intricacy and the inventiveness of this arranger is fantastic. He is an unsung hero among arrangers. He certainly deserves attention. Hangover Square is a masterpiece.
