Tiger Army: Nick 13 (vocals, guitar); Geoff Kresge (bass); London May (drums). Additional perconnel includes: Davey Havok, Matt Freeman, Lars Frederiksen. Tiger Army: Nick 13 (guitar); Geoff Kresge (double bass); London May (drums). Personnel: Davey Havok, Lars Frederiksen , Matt Freeman , Geoff Kresge (vocals); Greg Leisz (steel guitar); London May (drums). Recording information: Grandmaster Studios, Hollywood, CA (01/2001). Sometimes Nick 13, the singer and all-around grand poobah of Tiger Army, rekindles memories of a young Glenn Danzig, with his wah-wah wailing about all things ghoulish layered loudly atop a mix of spunky punk with just the right touch of rockabilly twang. Check out the porn paean "Annabel Lee" for a perfect example of the band's Misfits fixation. Fortunately, the SoCal crew doesn't get into makeup or other cheesiness, preferring to let all three chords do the talking, and it is simultaneously harsher and more melodic on disc number two, no mean feat. ~ Brian O'Neill

| Tiger Army II: Power Of Moonlight Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews True, True True, yes of course, this is not better than AFI. Psshh...
AFI is one of the best, underrated bands out there. Though this album is great! I totally love Cupid's Victim, its like a love song, but not really. It totally changes the guidelines of a "love song". Love it!
[though its not better than AFI but all the 3 to Tiger Army] Submitted by Les (Thousand Oaks, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
LISTEN TO THIS!!!! Man!What can I say?Tiger Army in my opinion is in the top 5 bands that have come out with anything in the last 10 years!!!I can listen to this record from start to finish and enjoy every track.I bought this album because it has "Cupid's Victim" on it which is one of my favorite songs period,Then I heard "In the Orchard" which has a cool old school country/Rockabilly sound to it which I absolutely love!!!!Buy this album, you won't regret it!!! tiger army never dies! i love this cd. tiger army is very original. they sound like a combination of X and lars frederiksen and the bastards. they have some awesome fast, loud songs like 'towards destiny' as well as some slow songs like 'under the orchard' not a bad song on here Submitted by matt the rat (pootzaville) Was This Review Helpful? Tiger Army II: Power Of Moonlight
$11.99 A 12-track digitally remastered compilation from the Velvet Underground vocalist spanning her Polydor and Island Records years. Features a rare alternative single voice version of 'All Tomorrow's Parties'.
INNOCENT & VAIN is a collection designed to introduce listeners to French chanteuse and Velvet Underground vocalist Nico. Throughout her lifetime, Nico released just six studio albums, each of them on a different record label. Add to that a dozen or so further live and "rarities" collections, and a couple of one-off singles, and the problems facing any attempt to truly anthologize her career should be obvious to all. INNOCENT & VAIN visits just two of those albums--1967's CHELSEA GIRL, her first solo set after leaving the Velvet Underground (who are also featured here, with two tracks), and 1974's THE END. The stylistic gaps that divide that pair are vast: one was driven by acoustic guitars, strings, and flutes, with producer Tom Wilson the most noticeable outside presence; the other contained dark harmonium drones, John Cale's electric viola, and Eno's savage electronics. Listened to in isolation, it is hard to believe they were even recorded by the same person. But there is no faulting the selections themselves. "It Was a Pleasure Then," from the earlier album, is the Velvets by proxy; "Femme Fatale" and the alternate single mix of "All Tomorrow's Parties" are the real thing. But the lengthy live rendering of the Doors' "The End," performed by voice and drone alone, best represents Nico's later, darker work. Throughout her lifetime, Nico released just six studio albums, each of them on a different record label. Add to that a dozen ...
