| Fantastic!! This is a great CD! I finally have all of her greatest hits on one CD! I highly recommend it. By a reviewer (Orland Park, IL) |
| One of the greatest of the Country Diva's... ...who still hasn't the respect that she deserves. The only reason why this album did not get a five star rating from me is because it isn't a complete or true "Ultimate" collection of this entertainers works. Ms. Mandrell is worthy of a complete box set, not just a one disc collection...but at least this is a start. Chuck By snoopychuk (Rock Hill SC) |
| MANDRELL A TRUE ICON........ What can be said about Barbara Mandrell that has not already been a front page headline. She is not only an icon in the world of entertainment, but she is a household name among all age groups, spanning decades. This collection is probably the best one out there, with the exception of the RAZOR and TIE release GREATEST HITS from 97. There are many songs that have been left out here, but still, it is a true example of the power that the Queen of country continues to hold. We miss Barbara, and in an odd sense feel like she has left us out in the cold. Maybe someday Barbara Mandrell will show her power and hold by releasing a box set, which could carry 10-20 some new songs, done the way BARBARA can, and NOT controlled by the hand of some political executive at a record company. | Great collection!!! I am thrilled to have "Fast Lanes and Country Roads" finally on cd!!!This song is worth the price alone. Though one of her lesser known hits, definitely one of her best. This collection covers her early career with Columbia as well as her latter with Capitol. Of course all her MCA hits are here!!The only flaw is that "To Me", which was a #3 hit for Barbara and Lee Greenwood, is not included. Still, a definitive collection, at least until the powers that be deem her worthy of a box set (which is LOOONG overdue!) By a reviewer (Wytheville,VA,USA) |
