This 90 minute Japanese DVD feature film, directed by Hisayasu Sato is an incredible celebration of weird sex, synthetic mind control and mass murder. Kyoko is a member of a club, The Bedroom. All the girls there use hallusion, a highly hallucinatory drug, and then let me do what they like with them. The women in the club are being killed and mutilated, one by one. Kyoto begins to suspect her lover, Kei, of being the murderer. But for her, the truth is to prove far more disturbing. Special DVD features include stills and background information on the Pink Cinema movement and Director Hisayasu. An oddly beautiful work in the Japanese "Pink Cinema" genre, which combines a fetishistic pornography aesthetic with an avant-garde visual sensibility, THE BEDROOM is a tale of drugs, prostitution, and murder. Kyoko, a prostitute, belongs to a club called "The Bedroom," in which the entire cartel of whores use a hallucinatory drug called "Hallusion." As woman after woman disappears, it comes to light that the Bedroom members are systematically being murdered and mutilated. Kyoko gradually becomes suspicious of her enigmatic boyfriend, Kei, but the answer to this mystery is far more disturbing than she could have imagined. Oddly, the film stars a real-life murderer, Issei Sagawa, who killed and partially consumed his Dutch girlfriend in 1981.
