| phun, phun, phun Chips from the Chocolate Fireball songs This recording by the Dukes, aka XTC,is just plain fun and entertaining. The problem with a lot of the music from the psychadelic era was that while they may have included the prerequisite sound effects or drug theme, the tunes themselves were just plain stupid. | 60's pop from XTC Chips from the Chocolate Fireball album for sale This is an enjoyable album. XTC decides to pose as a 60's pop group, and the results are impressive. Many of the sounds and studio tricks you'd hear on an album from the late 60's are here. By b-runny (Boston, MA) |
| A BOMBASTIC GOOD TIME !! Its not too long into the album where Andy Partridge screams MY LOVE EXPLODES! and you are into a weird magical carpet ride of manic pop thrills. By tedcantu (walled lake, MI) |
| A little Alice in Wonderland on a disc There's something fanciful in the lyrics from the tracks that used to comprise the Psonic Psunspot Album. Something reminiscent of an Alice in Wonderland scene. By a reviewer (Cedar Rapids, IA, USA) This review is for a different format. |
| Phar Out, Man! Chips from the Chocolate Fireball CD music Long before Austin Powers was a gleam in Mike Myers' eye, the artists formally (and henceforth) known as XTC donned their '60s togs and released an EP of psychedelic send-ups called 25 O'Clock. By a reviewer (Chatham, England) This review is for a different format. |
