Hard-rocking Canadians April Wine get the cork out with their 18th album, BACK TO THE MANSION. There's 11 tracks, including "Talk to Me," "Wish I Could Sing," and "Holiday."
After the release of 1986's Walking Through Fire, April Wine lessened their rapid record-tour-record cycle, resulting in subsequent sporadic albums and tours. The group appeared to be in hibernation for much of the '90s but came roaring out of their slumber in 2001 with the release of their first studio album in seven years, Back to the Mansion. The extended breather has not diminished the group's talent for penning melodic rock -- songs such as the album-opening "Won't Go There," "I'll Give You That," and especially the power ballad "Paradise" all carry on April Wine's trademark sound and approach. Longtime April Wine fans will not be disappointed with Back to the Mansion, something you cannot often say that about a new album by a veteran classic rock band that's been M.I.A. for an extended period. ~ Greg Prato
2001 album for the long running Canadian hard rock act. 11 tracks including a re-worked version of the first single, 'Won't Walk That Road No More' & a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's 'I Am A Rock'. 2001 release. Back To The Mansion Music April Wine Back To The Mansion Songs | 1. | Won't Go There |

Amazing I play this cd ALOT. These guys just get better all the time! Saw them live in the spring of 2005 and was just totally blown away by the playing! For Jerry Mercer to do that killer drum solo and be in his 60's ( !!!!! ) Brian Greenway sure can play and so can Myles, Jimmy, they sell the hard to find in the states cds at thier shows too! Got the Greatest Hits Live cd and a NICE t-shirt cheap.I have everything these guys ever did on CD or vinyl, one of the best bands out there. Submitted by Miles (Winthrop. Back To The Mansion album
$10.49 Blackfoot's 1975 debut, No Reservations (named in reference to their Native American bloodlines), had been a critical and commercial bust for their indifferent label, Island Records, so after being cut loose from their contract, the resourceful Southern rock group immediately hooked up with the more rock-friendly Epic Records, for the release of their second long-player, Flyin' High, the very next year. The bottom line was that Blackfoot were also still seeking their songwriting groove on their way to establishing the heavier style of Southern rock that would eventually distinguish them from Skynyrd and all of their clones. And yet a handful of these tracks -- "Save Your Time," "Island of Life," the title cut -- pass muster by Blackfoot's future high standards, and in retrospect, there's no telling what proper ...

| | Henry Paul CD (1982)
Back To The Mansion songs
$10.49 By 1982, Henry Paul was completely devoid of musical direction, let alone inspiration. After issuing a truly fine album in Anytime a year before, Paul decided on yet another musical change in direction. On his eponymously titled final album for Atlantic before re-forming the Outlaws, Paul took the hard boogie stance of Feel the Heat and married it to pop hooks ŕ la Boston, Loverboy, and Styx, making for a truly disastrous finale. The shrill edges in the vocals seem to be trying to get something out of Bruce Springsteen's mileage as well. But the choruses on "Nightline" are right off of Styx's Grand Illusion and Pieces of Eight albums. Synthesizers careen into incredibly shattering -- yet compressed -- power chords; the guitars and drums are more filtered through effects than they are played. While it seems Paul was doing everything he could to write hooks -- and who knows whether this might not ...
| | Moody Blues December CD (2003)
Back To The Mansion album
$7.85 One must give the Moody Blues credit for tenacity and a single-pointed focus. For 37 years they've put forth a startlingly consistent series of themes: optimism, a kind of blind-faith spirituality that the universe is in good hands and that people are by and large decent and kind, ...

For us, the jazz world experienced an astonishing period of invention and discovery from around the mid 1950s through the early 1980s. We were there to witness the emergence of a brave improvised music, created by some of the greatest jazz artist-composers of all time. The tunes on this album embody some of the most seminal rhythmic, harmonic and formal innovations ...
