| | Night Ranger Rock In Japan CD Night Ranger Discography of CDs
Japanese rock audiences always seemed to have a thing for melodic rock radio bands from the U.S. -- Mr. Big, Ratt, and Cheap Trick reigned supreme in the land of the rising sun at various points. Another you could add to the list was Night Ranger. When the band came out of retirement and decided to fire up their engines once more, Japanese dates were set in support of their 1997 release, Neverland. A year later, Rock in Japan was issued, the group's second Japanese live set (preceded eight years earlier by Live in Japan). Despite the aforementioned break from the action, the Night Ranger boys sound as tight as ever, and stick closely to the original versions (no rap-metal or nu-metal makeovers here). Although a crafty tactic is used by the label -- using '80s era photos of the band, despite the recording being from the late '90s -- long time fans are sure to enjoy Rock in Japan. All the expected favorites are included -- "Sister Christian," "Don't Tell Me You Love Me," and a piano version of "Sentimental Street" -- as well as tracks off Neverland (the title track, "New York Time," etc.). Besides the clothing fashions sported on the aforementioned album cover, if there was any doubt that Night Ranger was an '80s band, it's confirmed once and for all by Rock in Japan which includes not one, but two unaccompanied guitar solos. A nod to Nigel Tufnel and David St. Hubbins, perhaps? ~ Greg Prato

$8.59 This debut release from Australian television creation Hi-5 features kid-friendly bubblegum pop from the band alongside instrumental versions for karaoke.
Hi-5 is a television sensation in Australia, where its coed and multiculti crew brings clean-hearted pep, bounteous energy, and shingy singalong fun to a nation of kiddies. In 2003, the concept made its American debut with a cast based on Hi-5's established dynamic, and Kimee, Karla, Curtis, Jenn, and Shaun were a near-immediate weekday morning hit for Discovery Kids and TLC. Their debut recording features music from the show, all performed at levels of pizzazz thought unattainable by humans over the age of five. Continuously mixed, the music ranges from the quickly hummable melodies and mechanistic pump of Euro-dance ...
| | Magic Mushroom Band Spaced Out CD (1995)
Rock In Japan album
$16.05 This 1991 rare release from psychedelic rock group Magic Mushroom Band includes the tracks "Look Into The Future" and "Feel So Fine."
Magic Mushroom bill themselves as a "psychedelic pop band," but don't entertain any visions of SGT. PEPPER-like baroque-pop niceties. Rather, they channel the rough-and-ready space-rock sounds of Hawkwind, with a side order of Gong's spacey psychedelia. ...

Rock In Japan CD music
$12.95 All tracks have been digitally mastered using 24-bit technology.
With 1981's suitably named Allied Forces -- their fourth worldwide release and fifth overall -- the three members of Triumph put aside their differences and collaborated more seamlessly than ever before, fittingly delivering what is arguably the best album of their long career. Like the previous year's particularly intense Progressions of Power, and with the possible exception of a rather forgettable new track, "Ordinary Man," the pedestrian mid-paced rockers that had sometimes derailed previous Triumph albums were conspicuously absent here, replaced by snaggletoothed heavy metal carnivores courtesy of singing drummer Gil Moore, such as ...
