This 96 minute DVD feature film comedy stars horror hostess Elvira. When her Great Aunt dies, Elvira heads for the uptight New England Town of Falwell to claim her inheritance of a haunted house, a witch's cookbook and a punk rock poodle. A buxom, down-on-her-luck TV host inherits a spooky house. The slinky, outrageous Elvira shocks and delights the straitlaced community. To get back to Vegas, she has to fend off horny villagers and sell the house, malevolent spirits included. A goofy, campy, poke at puritanism and a sly wink at a host of horror films, ELVIRA, MISTRESS OF THE DARK is much more fun than it has any right to be. Dreaming of financing her own show in Las Vegas, Elvira leaves Hollywood in her customized "Macabremoblie" to claim what she thought was an inheritance. However, upon arriving in Fallwell, MA, all she finds is two drooling yokels, an overzealous morality brigade and a creepy great-uncle with more on his mind than long-lost relatives. With her penchant for double entendres and low cut dresses, Elvira scandalizes the town and soon finds herself in danger of being burned at the stake, jeopardizing her chances of ever making it to Vegas. A must see for Elvira die hard fans. Slapstick humour, plotless romp, totally hilarious. Elvira is such a good looking woman (Shame about the hair). Absolutly hilarious!!!

A good looking woman in a low cut black dress with campy puns on horror and sex. What more could a guy movie be about. Not every one will appreciate the wit in this movie but it's a classic "B" movie that gets a healthy rating.

Thsi movie had great PUN humor. Typical Evira comments but it is much better than watching here on midnight tv. She is allowed full run here. THe queen Vamp comes to a sleepy little MORAL podunk town and draws the interest of the town men while Upsetting the Frigid women. She was left a house in her will and is determined to sell it all so she can go to Vegas to have her own show. Lots of Vamping and puning on sex in this one but no harm done, It's all in good fun! Worth a watch to all but the overly-frigid without a sense of humor!

Brothers Joseph and Jacques Montgolfier had a productive year in 1783 when they became the first humans to construct a hot air balloon safe enough to carry passengers. Technological advances have since relegated the balloon to novelty status in the race to become airborne. But briefly, on July 2nd, 1982, the balloon reentered the public consciousness, when truck driver Larry Walters tethered 45 weather balloons to a lawn chair, and took to the air.
