Haven't We Met? Music Review Average Rating: (3.7 out of 5 stars) Classic Rankin Kenny's voice is an instrument. This CD showcases his vocal range with standards and originals. This is a must CD for Rankin fans! Submitted by LGDjunebug (Jersey Shore) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Rankin in top form This Kenny Rankin album displays the artist in top form. His take on the material is typical Rankin; soaring vocals, excellent backup and great material. The cuts "Blackbird" and his own "Peaceful" are standouts. The engineering and mixing are first-rate. If there is one negative, it's the fact that this record is presented as a 'live' performance, complete with polite applause after each cut. My suspicion, however, is that it's a studio recording re-mixed as 'live." The fact that the audience does not speak and that no concert location is mentioned anywhere are the giveaways. But forget all that. If you're a fan, you'll be more than happy. If you're not, then a very pleasant experience is in store for you.

from BET video I agree with Joseph. EXCEPT that this was indeed a live performance, in fact you can get the video for it -- it's BET presents Kenny Rankin.
Kenny has one incredible voice. I'd suggest you buy his studio CDs, and get the BET video instead of the CD version. Submitted by a reviewer (Alberta CANADA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Haven't We Met?
$15.65 The one-time doo-wop and rock-&-roll star Dion DiMucci has proved to be one of the most enduring of the genre's original pioneers, surviving numerous shifts in musical fashion over a career that has spanned six decades. This stripped-down Grammy-nominated production finds the singer going back to his pre-rock-&-roll roots, singing songs by Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, and Hank Williams, among others, accompanied only by his own guitar and tasteful percussion. Since his doo wop beginnings in the 1950s, Dion has tried a number of different musical styles, including the rock & roll of his early-'60s solo work and his late-'60s folk-pop phase. He also played the blues, if less prominently (see for example the ...

| | Atkins, Bobby & Mark Back To Back-Duets-Bluegrass Gospel CD (2006)
Haven't We Met?
$16.19 Bobby and Mark Atkins together have that father and son harmony that if you're not blood related is hard to copy. They lay their talents on 8 bluegrass gospel flavored tunes. Like Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs "Get In Line Brother" and Jim Eanes' "In His Arms I'm Not Afraid", to more country oriented numbers like Kitty Wells' "How Far Is Heaven" to tradition favorites like "When They Ring Those Golden Bells" and "Amazing Grace". Bobby's claim to fame in the past has been as one of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys. He appeared on the Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs' Martha White TV Show and on the soundtrack for the motion picture "Preacherman", plus he starred in the sequel "Preacherman Meets Widor Woman". The True Brothers, ...
