With STIFF UPPER LIP, AC/DC continued down the same road of consistency driven by Angus Young's workmanlike riffing and Brian Johnson's raspy yowl. | Angus in Gold Ballbreaker was Boring. when this came out i got it & glad i did i liked it right from the start, its Just a Solid ROCK AC/DC album/CD Great songs they have a Groove to em, so many ACDC fans agree. Fan since 1986 By rayjapmasaki (Ray, VT) This review is for a different format. |
| if you love bon scott but hate brian johnson This cd takes you back to the Bon Scott era. More bluesy and less screamy. Brian's ok, but Bon rules. People who like Brian say they like his scream. It's nice to see Brian rock in a more bluesy style, he should have done it over 20 years ago. I Feel Safe In New York City has a punk feel to it kinda like Ramones. This is the most original cd they have since Bon. Keep coming up with more material like this and you'll definately remembered as fondly as the Beatles or the Stones! | second best album I think this is the best album after back in black and I hope that ac/dc brings out some new stuf this year By tijldepester (belgium) This review is for a different format. |
| yeah Okay, so it's not really the classic AC/DC sound but as these guys get older they're going back to their roots in what all rock music is based on - blues. And it's still got that raw sound we've come to associate w/ AC/DC. I think it's great that they're doing stuff like this, and their next album should be similar, maybe even more blues... | mmm... Well this is not a very good acdc cd. It is a signifigant improvement from ballbreaker though. ACDC have never sold out in any way shape or form. They have used the same hard rock formula for each album. This is not selling out. THEY ARE GETTING WAY TOO OLD. This cd isn't that heavy. It sounds like acdc doing a bunch of Chuck Berry covers to me. But its okay if your a diehard fan. Stick to the earlier sht cuz this isn't there best stuff.
