Michael Kamen is a master at capturing nostalgia, especially when the age in question is the bittersweet "tie a yellow ribbon" landscape of World War II. For the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers, Kamen re-visits much of the same territory he explored with fellow sepia-tone junkie Roger Waters on Pink Floyd's The Wall and The Final Cut. Alternately tragic and uplifting, Band of Brothers is a raw, patriotic, and wistfully elegiac tome of swelling choirs, salvation army brass band, and melodious strings that compliment the series' balanced depiction of the horrors of war and the unpredictable sweetness of humanity. ~ James Christopher Monger
Original score composed and conducted by Michael Kamen.

reflects the ups and downs of WWII this cd rocks. much like the one of from the earth to the moon, this music tells its own story. the lovely themes remind us about the glory of winning a war but the sorrowful themes remind us that there is death in war. but never the less a wonderful soundtrack!!!!!!!!!!! Great, just like the Series It's obvious that Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg did not take short cuts on any part of this production. The soundtrack is just as riviting and powerful as the series! Submitted by a reviewer (Washington D.C.) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo
