Gather At The River: A Bluegrass Celebration Movie Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars)   Wonderful music
This music has a wonderful assortment of excellent artists giving great perfomances. The sound quality is excellent too. The camerawork I found to be superior to most music footage, in that it does not cater to "extremely short attention span" viewers. A pet hate of mine is camera angles changing every couple of seconds. This vid really lets you watch what is going on. It also uses some double, or superimposed images so you get two views of the same thing simaltaneously. For example you may see hands up close with a relatively long shot of the performer. The talking is quite interesting, and on a DVD its very easy to skip it the second time you watch it.
Of particular note is a clip of a young blind kid playing fiddle in a jam session with Doc Watson. This kid is incredible on his fiddle, and has infinite charm, and this footage will be historic one day...

This video takes an inside look at some of the biggest names in Bluegrass. Especially enjoyed seeing some of todays hottest before they were big, like Alison Krauss, Marty Raybon, Michael Cleveland, and Chris Thile.

Bluegrass at its best!
Beside Peter Rowan You have here some of the greatest Bluegrassmusicans. It's really a great pleasure to watch this DVD. All in a very good quality, a must for every Bluegrassfan. I can't get such DVDs in Germany, so I Buy them always in USA. Now buy it, You can't do wrong.
