| ONE OF THE FINEST ALBUMS OF THE 80īTH
THIS CD IS REALLY A BIG SMASH, BOTH THE RE-MASTERED SOUND AND THE SONGS. ITīS SLICK 80īTH RADIO FM SOUND. THE STRANGE THING IS THAT IT DOSENīT FEEL DATED AT ALL. ITīS TIMELESS AND TOO BAD THEY DONīT MAKE MUSIC THIS WAY ANYMORE. THE 90īTH REALLY KILLED THE MUSIC FOR GOOD. AS I LIVE IN EUROPE WE HAVE HAD WHAT WE CALL "EURO-POP" SINCE THE MIDDLE OF THE 80īTH. LISTEN TO THIS CD MAKES ME REALIZE THAT KIM DID IT TWO YEARS BEFORE WE "INVITED" IT. SHE WAS REALLY AHEAD OF HER TIME. NOW I WILL WAIT UNTIL I GET MY "BARKING AT AIR-PLANES" CD AND HOPE AND PRAY THAT ONE IS AS GOOD AS THIS ONE.

this cd was never said to be her best.... but i was there when it came out i have always thought it was the best from her. she has a great voice.

this CD is rock and dance---on this one kim got a more polished sound and every song is excellent---when are they going to get smart and release "lighthouse" on CD

| one of kim's best finally reissued on cd
kim's "Cafe Racers" release was one of those albums when it first was released that did not storm up the charts or produce a top ten single, and one also that you would not necessarily play all the time, like say "Supertramp's "Breakfast In America". but it is an album that once you returned to it, was very exciting to rediscover and just hear kim doing good music. "i pretend", "met you at the wrong time in my life" and "you make my heart beat faster" are definite highlights, and the other songs are as good as anything from any of her other albums. on this release, the production is clear and compliments kim's style well. if you like kim carnes, do not hesitate to buy this cd.
