The Damned released GRAVE DISORDER in 2001, their first new studio release in six years, and their first to feature prodigal member Captain Sensible since he'd returned to the band in 1996. Housed in a creepy-cool comic book style cover, GRAVE DISORDER is everything to like about the Damned in one easily accessible chunk: Dave Vanian's goth tendencies mixed with the Captain's punk anarchy and unwillingness to take anything particularly seriously. Highlights include the rocking "Looking For Action" and the doomy "Beauty of the Beast."

Grave Disorder is the brand new release from the legendary band The Damned. The new material was written between March and May of 2000, produced by Grammy award winner David Bianco (Tom Petty, Teenage Fan Club, Del Amitri, Rollins Band, Buffalo Tom, and Afghan Whigs) and marks the first time that David Vanian and Captain Sensible have collaborated since Frankie Goes to Hollywood was polluting our airwaves. Rumors spread like wildfire that these sessions delivered some of the strongest new material from The Damned since Strawberries was released back in 1982. Grave Disorder was The Damned's Nitro records debut comes packaged in a Digipak with 13 Damned tracks.

4 stars How Do They Keep Doing It??
OK, this is not quite "Machine Gun Ettiquette" or "Strawberries" or their debut . . . but it's a pretty solid album (on first listening). These guys have been around for most of the past 25 years and they keep cranking out solid albums (which is more than I can say for the Stones . . .or even Iggy Pop). Between their sense of humor and catchy tunes, the Damned are just a joy to listen to. And to think I was ready to write them off after the release of their 2nd (putrid) album!

What a shock this CD was. 25 years in, and they release one that holds its own with their best. Amazing.

5 stars The Damned At Their Best
Grave Disorder brings back the Damned of the Black Albumn Era with a touch of Machine Gun Etiquette thrown in for good measure. The End Of Time is quite possibly their darkest and best tune to date. Vanians vocal chords are still haunting and biting as each song calls for. The omission of longtime drummer Rat Scabies is the only downside to this otherwise great cd and tour.

This is truly the best Damned record since the Captain left,...and now when the wanker is back, it´s all back to normal.... With this record, the old farts makes me fell youn again.... MacDeath
