Special Edition; Subtitled; Uncut |
X video Eight curious scientists in the far-future year 1985 try to find the source and meaning of a message disc from the planet Venus. Based on "The Astronauts" by the great Stanislaw Lem (SOLARIS), this SF curio also boasts a multinational cast, as well as beautiful photography and production design. Though Lem disowned the film, it stands on its own rather well and is probably one of the best SF films from the fifties.
In this celebrated sci-fi classic, a mysterious object from outer space is found in the Gobi desert. An international expedition, dispatched to Venus to decipher the message it contains, discovers it is a declaration of war - on Earth! The first sci-fi film made in East Germany by the legendary DEFA film studio, The Silent Star is a masterpiece in story, art and set design, and technology and was the forerunner of 2001: A Space Odyssey and, later, Contact.

Bilingual Baby: French DVD (2000)
X review Help your child learn French at the best possible time, childhood. Research has proven that children learn foreign languages better when they are exposed to them at an earlier age, and fluency in one language can lead to greater ability to learn more languages later in life, and increased mental development in general. Immerse your child in French and help them get an advantage in life. For ages 1-6.
Bilingual Baby is a revolutionary series of learning DVDs that exposes young children to the world of a second language - a precious gift that will stay with them forever. Each Bilingual Baby DVD introduces over 60 words and phrases by completely immersing your child in the new language. The child will always hear only one language to give them maximum exposure to the sounds, syntax and structure of the new language. Additionally, the same words and phrases are shown on-screen in large text in the new language to reinforce the lesson. For parents, there are small on-screen guide words in English (so as not to distract the child) and extra time after sentences to allow for translation. The Bilingual Baby DVDs are reality-based, presenting everyday objects that any child can recognize and are a part of their world, such as puppies, toys, and lots of other children. Give your child the life-long benefit of learning a second language with the Bilingual Baby DVD series. For ages from 1 - 5 years.
