Not what I expected When shopping for music I usually follow recommendations regarding the reviews I read, or take not of other customers who might have baught a particular album in the genre of music I listen to. Nothing wrong with Tristania, but I expected something different. If you are a Nightwish fan, do not think that Tristania is simirlar, its not. Tristania has a very dark feel with excellent music (symphonic death metal)- not quite my style. Nightwish fans should not get confused. Judging Tristania though, once getting used to the style of music, adds a different feel to your listening material and yes, quite different. Tristania would add a little variety to your normal collection of Nightwish, Luca Turilli and Rhapsody. Submitted by a reviewer (Johannesburg, GP, South Africa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Simply magnificent! Since their album "Widow´s Weeds" Tristania achieved once again their powerful and dramatic style.
I could dare to say this album is a mix of Therion+Sins of thy Beloved and Lacrimas Profundere.
A must for any Tristania fan! More female vocals...more choir parts...check it out it really worth it!! Submitted by a reviewer (Heredia, Costa Rica) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Unspeakable perfection World of Glass is Tristania's finest hour. Most Tristania fans would classify this as being their weakest, yet I find it to be the one in which their true talent is unleashed. Choirs, operatic vocals, growls, violins, male vocals, electronic keyboards and everything you can imagine is in this album. However, it's impossible to like this album if you keep comparing it to Beyond the Veil. They're totally different. Anyway, the absolute highlight of the album is The Shining Path. I sing it in my sleep... Submitted by walteraquilina (Malta) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts ...

$8.99 This two-LP set, which was released in 1979 as part of United Artists' Blue Note reissue series, brought back trumpeter Freddie Hubbard's early album Hub Cap, a sextet session with tenor-saxophonist Jimmy Heath, trombonist Julian Priester, and pianist Cedar Walton. Although that session (comprised of four Hubbard compositions, one of Walton's songs, and Randy Weston's "Cry Me Not") is excellent, it is the full album of previously unreleased material from an all-star quintet that is of greatest interest. Hubbard teams up with fellow Jazz Messengers Wayne Shorter (on tenor), Walton, bassist Reggie Workman, and (in Blakey's spot) drummer Philly Joe Jones for some advanced hard bop. Highpoints include the fiery "Philly Mignon" and a strong version of "Body and Soul." ~ Scott Yanow
Blue Note had an all too frequent habit of sitting on sessions for years before releasing them, as was the case with this fine quintet outing from trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, which was originally recorded in 1962 but didn't see the light of day until 1976 when it was paired with Hubbard's Hub Cap session as a double LP, and then didn't see a stand-alone release until the mid-'80s. Teaming with Wayne Shorter on tenor sax, Cedar Walton on piano, Reggie Workman on bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums (all but Jones were working together ...
