| ALTERED REVIEW---GETS BETTER EVERY TIME
AS I FIRST REVIEWED THIS CD, I WAS UPSET WITH DYLAN'S STYLE AND ATTITUDE. I'VE NOW LISTENED TO THE ALBUM 4 TIMES AND I TAKE BACK MY WORDS. THIS IS A FINE CD, AND DYLAN SHOWS MUCH MORE DEPTH THAN I THOUGHT. IT'S A MATURE CD AND WILL BE ENJOYED BY DYLAN FANS AND A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T PAY MUCH ATTENTION BEFORE.

| Skirting the Edge..
As always, Dylan walks a tight line between imitating himself and actually extending his intense body of work here in Love and Theft. This time, it's a success for the most part. Granted, it's made up generally of the same gravelly rhythms, the same very broadly aimed references, the same apparently private lexicon of meaning and symbol. But he still has the listener by the throat with conviction and often brutal honesty glimmering under the self-created surface of poetry/music, so familiar now after all these years. Took one star away for tonal monotony, although it dissipates after a few listenings.

| A great listen, start to finish
Having bounced back from the darkness that pervaded Time Out of Mind, he has made a record that is relatively upbeat and witty. It sounds like he truly enjoyed making this record. The veteran band is extremely tight and is a perfect compliment to Dylan's eclectic songs, covering blues, swing, folk, bluegrass, ballads and good old fashioned rock and roll with equal adeptness. While the songwriting is not his strongest (or the main focus here), the musicianship and Dylan's singing are first rate. There is not a single weak track on this record, with at least one borderline classic (Mississippi).

| Dylan's best in a decade
Love and Theft is easily Dylan's best album in many years in the same league as such Dylan greats as "Desire" or "Blood on the Tracks". Dylan fans - even the tentative ones - will love this album. Even my "Dylanphobics" friends have applauded it.

| MUSIC SPEAKS 4 ITSELF
Don't really have much 2 say about this album, I just wanted 2 make sure and stop by and give it a perfect 5 like it deserves. I don't need 2 say anything because the music speaks 4 itself. Bob Dylan = the last of the mohicans.
