Peters' second album hits just about the same mood as its predecessor: concise punk-but-not-hardcore sounds that have a sense of anthemic fury without boiling over into out-of-control rage. One's tempted to say "what a relief," because according to some punk party-liners, some degree of artistic evolution would be synonymous with selling out. But actually, some more variation would have made the follow-up more interesting. There's more passion than imagination in the lyrics, which are kind of pissed off and frustrated about a variety of ills, including corrupt labor unions and hardships faced by Vietnam vets. But these dissatisfactions aren't articulated in too cogent or moving a manner, and melody is still at a minimum with these fellows. In keeping with the no-time-to-lose ethos of such punk, the 13 songs add up to just under 32 minutes. ~ Richie Unterberger

Not quite minimal or fast enough to be straight hardcore, not quite pop enough to be old-school punk in the Ramones style, Peters and his band charge through fuzzy chord-paced tunes. Shakira's brand new English album She Wolf is an uptempo pop album.
