Purchase Melodious Movement CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Lhasa CD (2009)
Melodious Movement album
$15.05 Lhasa's earlier work included arrangements that drew on ranchera and Gypsy music, as well as American, Canadian, and Mexican folk, French chanson, and pop. The international flavor is more subtle on LHASA, without vanishing entirely. The songs on the album all deal with love, usually of the obsessive, hopeless, and doomed variety, and even at her most seductive, as on the subtle rock/tango "The Lonely Spider," Lhasa's vocals hint at grief and despair. The song's Latin standup bassline and subtle chiming guitar combine with a muted tango beat to give the song a deeply melancholy air. "Is Anything Wrong" is a bluesy pop ...

| | Dr John In The Right Place CD (1973)
Melodious Movement album
$8.39 After GUMBO, his album of classic New Orleans covers, Dr. John released IN THE RIGHT PLACE, his finest set of original funk to date. Perhaps inspired by his exploration of some of New Orleans' finest writers and musicians on the prior release, these tunes bristle with sassy confidence and mysteriously hypnotic grooves. The good Doctor is backed throughout by the Crescent City's own preeminent funk quartet, The Meters.
Setting aside the more obscure exotica of his previous outings, these numbers are supple, subtle, and sturdy. They're also ...

| | Singlefaze Chapter II: Reinvented CD (2009)
Melodious Movement CD music
$12.85 Singlefaze started as a simple idea. Brian Hess, originally the bands front man, wanted to start a project that would last. He had two goals in mind; Make great music and keep Singlefaze alive. Through many member changes and position changes, both goals are being realized. Singlefaze consists of Angela Lopez (Vocals/Viola), Jeremy Driesler (Guitar), Ron Coleman (Bass), and Hess (Drums). It's current members have been together since July 2007.Singlefaze unleashed an 8 song LP titled "4-6" in May 2008. It utilized 3 vocalists and a heavy amount of viola. They were still trying to figure out exactly who they were, as there had been so many member changes just months before. Says Hess, "It is one of the most difficult things to do (as an artist) whn everyone is involved in the writing process. The style tends to change with each new member." But now, with a solid team, Singlefaze has developed into one of the best original Alternative Rock bands in the country. With the release of "Chapter ...
