With IN THE FLESH, ex-Pink Floyd vocalist, bassist, and genius behind THE WALL Roger Waters releases a superbly recorded live album that covers his entire career. Acknowledging that his old band has performed DARK SIDE OF THE MOON many times, and that a live version of THE WALL was recently released, Waters delivers a set of FM staples, mixed with rarities that aficionados will appreciate.
Floyd classics are given new twists, such as the female vocals on "Mother," and Waters' singing lead on "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2." Going back to Pink Floyd's psychedelic early days, the seven-minute "Set the Controls For the Heart of the Sun" is performed both eerily and masterfully. "Perfect Sense (Parts I and II)" works as an excellent crowd singalong, and is wonderful companion material to the previously mentioned Floyd albums. "Each Small Candle," the only new song in the set, and the centerpiece of an upcoming album, shows that Waters is as creative as he's ever been. IN THE FLESH--LIVE is perfect for those who want to relive these dramatic performances, and those who want a document of a compelling live concert.
Recorded live at The Rose Garden Arena, Portland, Oregon; America West Arena, Phoenix, Arizona; MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada; Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, Irvine, California. Includes liner notes by Roger Waters.

Watching TV I saw this tour 7 days before this performance was recorded. Simply unbelievable!
I won the tickets off KZPS in Dallas where they played. There weren’t many in attendance and boy did those that stayed home miss something special. Over the years I have really come to appreciate this band Waters assembled. I was very close to the stage. I noticed they had a TV going during the first set and it was showing Kubrick’s “Paths of Glory”. During the second set it was showing “2001. A Space Odyssey.” This sticks in my mind. The guitar playing of Bramhall REALLY sticks in my mind. He was as hot as August in West Texas. He had the Austin rock star look but he had the Pink Floyd guitar licks roaring from his Fender axe. The blistering leads and the subtle nuances were all with him. The entire band was amazingly cohesive. John Carin in particular was another standout playing lap steel, singing the lead for “Dogs” and acoustic guitar and keyboards to boot. “Dogs” rates with anything I have seen live from “Won’t Get Fooled Again” by The Who in ’76 to “The End” performed by Macca in ’02. I’m going to see Waters again this Friday May 2,2008 in Dallas. DSOTM in it’s entirety. If they top 2000 I may have to retire from going to concerts.

all I can say is.... Turn it up LOAD! An absolutely phenominal performance from Roger & Co. Buy the DVD too, you won't be disappointed. And 'The Wall Live in Berlin' DVD - is awesome too.
Rock On' Roger! Keep it up!

Pink Roger! The thing that strikes me most about this CD is how absolutely clean sounding it is for a live recording - obviously no expense was spared, musicians and engineers both. The performance is near flawless. The sound quality is spectacular.
There's no doubt that some of the effects are taped - especially the Dark Side tracks but otherwise, this is a live masterpiece. For years I thought Dark Side could never be reproduced live because of its intricate nature but here it is along with bits and pieces of The Wall and what I consider the most underrated Floyd song, Dogs. That tune takes me places every time I hear it and to hear it performed live is such a thrill. (It's actually what made me buy In The Flesh - I couldn't believe there was actually a live version of Dogs.)
The CD unravels a bit for me during Money but otherwise, what a fantastic set of music. I only Wish I was There to hear it live. Submitted by Mister X (Phoenix, AZ) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Massive The sound is incredible. I like this live version of all of the songs better than I do the originals. Doyle Bremhall II and Snowy White play exactly like David Gilmour to the T !!! Love it. I bought a second dvd just to have a back up. The first one will be worn out. Had to have the cd so I could listen to it in the car too. Excellent!! Submitted by shar_dian (Spring Hill, Fl.) Feted by heavy metal fans, this was a much broader album that put them in touch with AOR radio, and consequently took them out of their heavy rock ghetto. The ace in their tarot pack was the entrancing and enchanting "Don't Fear The Reaper" - the greatest song that the original Byrds never wrote. Flowing and chiming it put the band in the pop charts with a song of rare quality and consequently pushed this album's sales. The other tracks struggle to compete with the Reaper, but there are moments, especially with "The Revenge Of Vera Gemini," on which Patti Smith narrates.
Nothing Blue Öyster Cult had produced previously prepared listeners for its infectious mid-tempo hit, "(Don't Fear) the Reaper," which propelled the band into a higher commercial orbit and caused (or reflected) a change in the balance of power in the group. The song was written ...
