| ALC keeps rocking
The SACD format of the greatest hits is awesome. I have bought many of the original released CD's and of course enjoyed them, but listening to the SACD, I could truly hear each of the various instruments and vocals that are being played. It adds a whole another dimension to the music. A must get in my book.

| sounds terrible..
I have nearly a $10,000 audio system. 2 monster amps and 2 monster subs. This sacd is garbage, I own many sacds and dvd audio discs. The Essential Alice In Chains 2 cd set blows this sacd away on my Rotel cd player. I will try and sell it on ebay. Boy its lifeless and dull mastering job..A shame.

| get Nothing Safe instead
True, this is a great CD, but it's lacking some of the best Alice in Chains songs- Nutshell, Down in A Hole, Got Me Wrong, etc. I'd recommend Nothing Safe as a better compilation of their greatest hits.

| Average compilation
Greatest Hits is a good start for anyone who's interested in Alice in Chains, but the fact is the 10-track compilation doesn't capture the essence of the band (an issue that plagues many "greatest hits" compilations). But even popular songs like "We Die Young" "Got Me Wrong" and "Down in a Hole" are missing; I'd recommend Nothing Safe as a better taste for starters.

| A must-have disc
If you dont have all AIC's albums or the box set, then get this. Its got all the radio hit singles. It lacks many of their best songs, but this a great way to get a little taste from all their albums.
