Genesis - The Genesis Songbook Movie Review Average Rating: (2.3 out of 5 stars) Selling Genesis by the Dollar Itīs very sad to see Collins, Banks and Rutherford trying to sell us the idea that things got much better after Peterīs depatrure. Even worse is to watch Banks demereting Peter's contribution to the classic songs and Collins trying to convince us that "Mama" and "No Son of Mide" are THE classic songs. Unless you are big fan o Phill, skip it. Submitted by buenomv (Brazil) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
It had some good songs but some very bands ones too I Can't Dance, Invisible Touch,Follow you Follow Me, Turn it on Again, Misunderstanding and Land of Confusion were all the worse songs here. This is not Genesis but part of the Banks/Rutherford/Collins BRC band. Why they don't have Steve Hackett and Peter Gabriel on the front cover????!!!! Why didn't the get rid of these crappy songs and put in Watcher of the Skies, Carpet Crawlers, Cinema Show, Your Own Special Way, Dance On a Volcano, and Los Endos Submitted by reloj (Mexico DF) Was This Review Helpful? Genesis: 1st DVD experience Until we finnally got a DVD, very interesting documentary, a must have for any serious GENESIS fan, unfortunately none of the songs were complete an the audio is awful despite being 5.1 DD The 3 "unplugged style" songs in the Bonus material is the only retrievable thing soundwise we've got. I hope they'll put out the other "real concerts" from the 80's with better sound quality. Submitted by a reviewer (Canoga Park, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful.
REAL CONCERTS??? THE REAL CONCERTS WERE IN THE 70'S WHEN GENESIS WAS AN ACUTAL ROCK BAND WITH STEVE HACKETT AND PETER GABRIEL UNLIKE THE 80'S WHERE THE BRC (BANKS/RUTHERFORD/COLLINS)BAND WENT TO POP TRASH UNWORTHY OF THE NAME GENESIS. I THINK YOU NEED TO STICK WITH PHIL COLLINS SOLO ALBUMS AND DVDS PAL! Submitted by 80SGENESISSUCKS (Delaware) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful. Genesis - The Genesis Songbook film
$11.79 FROM LUXURY TO HEARTACHE is a 13-track release by U.K. pop quartet Culture Club, featuring "Move Away," "I Pray," and "Gusto Blusto." For their fourth album, From Luxury to Heartache, Culture Club jettisoned producer Steve Levine in favor of pop/R&B veteran Arif Mardin, seeking to reverse the commercial decline they had suffered with their third album. When the danceable leadoff track, "Move Away," rose into the singles chart, that seemed like a good decision, and the rest of the album followed through with a pronounced drum sound and a relentless beat. The group's flamboyance was played down in an attempt to redefine Culture Club as dancefloor favorites. But previously the group had enjoyed a broad-based pop appeal, and by focusing on one part of their constituency, they ultimately sacrificed the rest. What's more, to make this kind of music, you didn't need a group; all you needed was a lead singer and some synthesizers. No wonder Boy George went solo before the year was out. ~ William Ruhlmann For their fourth album, From Luxury To Heartache, Culture Club jettisoned producer Steve Levine in favor of pop/R&B ...

$15.25 The first of three prequels to George Lucas's celebrated STAR WARS films, EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE is set some 30 years before the original STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE in the era of the Republic. Naboo, a peaceful planet governed by the young but wise Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman), is being threatened by the corrupt Trade Federation, puppets of an evil Sith lord and his terrifying apprentice, Darth Maul (Ray Park). Jedi knights Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor, performing an amazing vocal imitation of Alec Guinness, the older Obi-Wan) are called on to intervene in the trade disputes. Along the way, they acquire an apprentice of their own in the form of young prodigy Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), or as STAR WARS fans know him, the future Darth Vader. They also encounter Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best), a goofy, lizardlike creature who has been banished from his underwater world for clumsiness. When the Trade Federation launches an attack on Naboo, the queen and her allies must battle hordes of robot troopers while Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan face off against the sinister Darth Maul.
