nina & frederick harmonies I GREW UP LISTENING TO RADIO TANGANYIKA (DAR-ES-SALAAM) - TANZANIA IN THE FIFTIES AND SINCE I ARRIVED IN AUSTRALIA SOME TWENTY YEARS AGO I COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING THAT WAS N & F. I AM SO THRILLED TO FINALLY FIND THE ALBUM WITH ALL OF THEIR SONGS ON IT. THIS IS REALLY A BLAST BACK DOWN MEMORY LANE. THANKS. Excellent Re-pro What a great recording. This material is 40 to 50 years old. The quality of recording in these circumstances is exceptional and very good value for money. On hearing this album, I immediately ordered the secound volume which refreshingly, had no repeat tracks from the first album. Nina and Frederik were loved by my parents, now in their 80's, and this gift to them in their infirmity has brought much joy. I grew up with the sound and hearing it afresh is wonderful. I live in the UK and could not source it here. CD Universe made it happen. Thank-you. Submitted by greg.derham (Bristol, UK) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo
Trip down memory lane. I grew up in the fifties and remember when Nina and Fredrick were radio staples...through the years I always hummed pieces of 'Counting Colors In the Rainbow' and 'Listen to the Ocean.' I always wondered if these songs had been issued on CDs and was abosolutely thrilled to find them ad CD Universe! What harmonies! What soothing music! What a blast down memory lane. I recommend the cd to anyone who is tired of the overproduced far that passes for music these days! Submitted by stormyweather9 (Northern California) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo

$8.69 This 1991 followup to 1987's successful CANCIONES DE MI PADRE continues Linda Ronstadt's innovative musical exploration of her roots. Once again, producer and arranger Ruben Fuentes is on hand to provide authentic orchestral accompaniment to classic Mexican songs handpicked by Linda and her brothers, who sing together as a trio on several tracks. The orchestra is also bit smaller this time, which perhaps accounts for Ronstadt's greater confidence in presenting this delightful material. What strikes the listener again ...

$6.05 Thanks to its semi-tropical location and polyglot historical influences -- German and Czech settlers blending with Mexican traditions leading to such cross-cultural oddities as traditional crèches dolled up with jalapeño pepper lights and luminarias -- Texas just isn't Currier & Ives country, and so the more traditional Christmas iconography gets skewed. Good ...

$16.49 One Guitar, Two VoicesVoxxy Vallejo began with two musicians and an online collaboration in the spring of 2007. Voxxy was in the process of relocating from Iowa to Phoenix and after 3 short months in Phoenix and 6 fully recorded/produced songs later, she decided to move to Tacoma and create music with Gene Vallejo in person and on stage. They spent that summer as a Power Acoustic Duo in local club and coffee house open-mics and by the fall were booking their first hour set performances at local venues, quickly getting their names out there and into the local press. During this time they had made their first recordings available online and watched as many of them climbed the *charts through thousands of others to reach #1 in both Rock and Blues categories.*soundclick.comThe Debut AlbumWith 6 original songs complete, Voxxy Vallejo already had half an album, and with many more already written by the end of 2007, there was enough material for more than a full ...
