Terry Black, originally from Vancouver, B.C., became a teen sensation in Canada between 1964 and 1966. He had numerous hit singles released on the Arc Records label, mostly written and produced by the songwriting team of Philip F. Sloan and Steve Barri. In 1965, Arc Records released a collection of Black's singles under the album called "Only 16/Poor Little Fool," named after two of his biggest hits. In 1966, due to a job transfer, the Black family moved to Hollywood, CA. This put Black right in the center of the entertainment world. The movie industry got word of Black's huge success in Canada and soon Black was approached with a script casting him as Elvis Presley's brother with the hope of making him the next Fabian or Frankie Avalon. Unfortunately, Black was still under contract to Arc Records in Canada and the movie did not come to pass. To cash in on Black's international success and move to the U.S. market, in 1966 Arc Records compiled another collection of his singles and released them under the imaginative album title "The Black Plague." This album contained essentially the same songs as the "Only 16/Poor Little Fool" collection with the exception of three songs, the Sloan/Berri-penned "There's Something About You," a traditional gospel song; "Dry Bones," arranged by Black; and a rousing rendition of "Sinner Man." The Black Plague became more successful than Black's first collection, especially in the U.S., mainly due to the album name and garage style of some of the tracks. The album is still sought after by record collectors and original pressings sell for large amounts in collector's markets around the world. This release by Unidisc Records is the very first CD reissue of the original 1966 Arc Records album. It is released at a budget price complete with original artwork, liner notes, and digitally mastered sound, but, unfortunately, it contains no bonus tracks. ~ Keith Pettipas

Often, supergroups wind up dominated by one particular personality - think Eric Clapton in Derek & the Dominos, Jack White in the Raconteurs -- which makes the egalitarianism of Them Crooked Vultures all the more remarkable. Of course, when it comes down to it, it's a group of three natural-born collaborators: John Paul Jones, the old studio pro who gravitated toward provocative partners after Led Zeppelin's demise, teaming up with R.E.M. as easily as he did with avant-queen Diamanda Galas and nu-folkster Sara Watkins; Dave Grohl, ...

Thirteen Masks
Jarboe Thirteen Masks CD  (1992) Bonus Tracks; Remastered

Black Plague music CDs
CD $14.69  Audio Samples
Jarboe's first solo release outside of the Swans/Skin family tree is an admirably varied effort recorded at a variety of different sessions. Thirteen Masks often explores a number of styles not commonly seen in the work of Jarboe's regular bands, from nightclub jazz to modern dancefloor moves, while at the same time demonstrating the dark appeal which she brings to her music and singing. She is assisted throughout by a number of Swans members and long-standing associates, including guitarists Clinton Steele and Norman Westberg, bassist Algis Kizys, and once in a while by her longtime partner in music and life, Michael Gira. The general statement of her broad musical intent comes right from the start: "Listen" is delicate, with strange musical chimes and an emotive vocal, but it's immediately followed by "Red," a slamming hip-hop/industrial dance number created with help from fellow art extremist Foetus. That in turn is followed by the effects-laden strings and harpsichord of "A Man of Hate," which also reappears later in a different version. ...

CD $11.15
(Ephesians 5:19-20) "When you meet together, sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, as you praise the Lord with all your heart. Always use the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to thank God the Father for Everything". Thank you for stopping in I hope you will take the time to check out the music and download what you enjoy. My policy is if you like it enough to download it tell a friend. God Bless. Peter Bailey Statement of Faith: I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and "The Way, The Truth and The Life" as stated in John 14:6. I have received Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, and desire daily to live pleasing to Him. I will treat others with the utmost respect and integrity both in business and on a personal level. I am prepared to take advantage of every opportunity He provides to witness according to Revelation 12:11. This page covers Peter's background both personally and musically.Writer, vocalist and bassist Peter Bailey was born October 5th, 1952 and raised up in the Episcopalian faith in the Chicago area during the 50's when the family was the forefront and staple of the American way. Child 5 of 6 he was brought up in a loving home with both parents and a house full of siblings with ranging ages. His first introduction to music was the Accordion that his mother (who loved playing piano herself) would encourage her children to learn. In those days they would come to your home and teach your child. Peter 10 and his older sister Joy 12 would not find the instrument that intriguing and generally never practiced. Around the age 12 he decided that the Saxophone was an instrument he would truly like to play, but like kids at that age the desire would fall short in the reality. Knowing he had exhausted his ability to request for his parents to buy him another try he purchased the next instrument on his own and taught himself to play bass. At last he had found his musical voice in the world. As with most people of the early 60's generation he was affected by the arrival of a little band who had jumped the pond to conquer America..."The Beatles". By the age of 14 he was playing with local garage bands and by 15 he was developing his songwriting skills. At the age of 18 he would lose his loving and cherished mother Catherine (Betty) Bailey to Cancer. This would leave an un-measurable hole in his life followed up just a short 3 years later with the loss of his father Peter Bailey Sr. At 22, he moved to Champaign, IL and began playing everything from Rock to Jazz with such groups as Afterbirth, The Slink Rand Group, and The Re-Runs. In 1982 Peter did a stint with the Beatles protégé` group, Badfinger. The following year it was on to Roadmaster, ...
