Animated; Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Soundtrack English This animated adaptation of E. B. White's classic children's book tells the story of a clever spider named Charlotte who befriends the piglet Wilbur. Although he has been raised as a young girl's pet, Wilbur is sold to a farmer who makes the oinker just another addition to his barn. The pig soon finds out that he -- like the other animals -- will eventually be killed for food. But Charlotte comes to Wilbur's aid by convincing the farmer that Wilbur is a very special pig... Produced by animation legends William Hanna and Joseph Barbera (THE FLINTSTONES, SCOOBY-DOO) this musical feature brings E.B. White's beloved children's novel to life with a wealth of famous voices. Friendly pig Wilbur (Henry Gibson, NASHVILLE) makes a big splash on the county fair circuit after Charlotte (Debbie Reynolds), the gentle spider living over his sty, "spins" his praises in her web. But Wilbur still has painful lessons to learn about the fleeting nature of life and friendship. Screenwriter Earl Hamner, Jr. created the beloved 1970's television series THE WALTONS. Co-produced by Hanna-Barbera.

LOVELY My daughter was watching this movie on the TV and cried her eyes out. I watched some of it and wanted the DVD of it that's why I ordered it. Like all movies like this, they are good children movies and adults enjoy them as well. They have a meaning and make you realise life should be like that Submitted by alanjill (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

Charlotte's Web video
$10.49 Based on actual diary accounts of several teenagers following the L.A. riots, FREEDOM WRITERS is the story of an idealistic teacher's attempts to make a difference in the lives of her at-risk students. Located in gang-ravaged Long Beach, California, Woodrow Wilson High is a hotbed of violence due to a voluntary integration program which brings Black, Latino, Asian, and White students together. Rather than having the desired effect of creating healthy diversity, this program breeds constant war between all parties involved, the result being daily gun shots, constant racial slurs, and gang violence.
Played largely by young unknowns, the freshman class in question is both naïve and wise beyond its years. While never having heard of the Holocaust, these kids are well-versed in the pain of poverty, the legal system, and death. Despite being up against unthinkable violence, devoted first-time teacher Erin Gruwell (Hillary Swank) never gives up, slowly bonding with her class of at-first unreachable pupils, breaking down their tough exteriors and getting at the real people beneath through requiring the students keep daily journals. Meanwhile, a strain is put on Erin's marriage as her student involvement gradually takes priority over her personal life. The intensity with which Erin relates to her ...
| | Sicko DVD (2007) Widescreen
Charlotte's Web film
$10.15 America's most incendiary filmmaker, Michael Moore, returned in 2007 with this health-care-industry exposé. SICKO tackles material as controversial as the topics explored in Moore's other films, yet does so in a way that places the focus on ordinary Americans affected by the nation's health-care crisis. After providing some historical background on how our nation's medical care system became so ravaged and unfair, Moore interviews a series of individuals and families who have had their lives all but destroyed by the denial of care in the service of profit. While there are two sides to the gun-control debate and even a legitimate discourse for how to best wage the war on terror, it's simply impossible to justify how a baby girl can wind up dead because her mother's health insurance wasn't accepted at a nearby hospital. Moore smartly allows this and other stories to be told with little or no interference, conjuring strong feelings of empathy, rage, and deep sadness.
Of course, SICKO isn't a PBS documentary, it's a Michael Moore movie, and his fingerprints are all over ...

His fundraising ideas include a topless tutorial service and other raunchy schemes, which only help add to Van's "Big Man on Campus" status.

| | Friends With Money DVD (2006) Full Frame; Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled
Charlotte's Web DVD
$9.15 Nicole Holofcener's first two films, 1996's WALKING & TALKING and 2001's LOVELY & AMAZING, were intelligent looks at modern-day relationships between friends and family. Continuing her one-movie-every-five-years schedule, 2006's FRIENDS WITH MONEY follows that tradition of smart screenwriting, excellent acting, and careful direction. FRIENDS WITH MONEY focuses on four female friends examining their relationships with their significant others and themselves--and not always liking what they see. Frances McDormand stars as Jane, a successful dress designer who has taken to wild public outbursts, stops washing her hair, and is married to a kind man who might be gay (Simon McBurney). Joan Cusack is Franny, a multimillionaire who appears to have the perfect life with her husband (Greg Germann) and kids. Catherine Keener plays Christine, who is building her dream house and writing a screenplay with her husband (Jason Isaacs) as their life together is ...
