Essential Billy Joel album for sale Product Description

Essential Billy Joel album for sale by Billy Joel was released Oct 02, 2001 on the Sony Music label. At the close of the 20th Century, it became apparent that Billy Joel was one of the premier pop craftsmen of the post-Beatles era. Essential Billy Joel songs This generous two-disc compilation neatly makes a case for Joel's reign at the top of the musical heap by chronicling nearly 20 years of hits. Joel's melodic gift and lyrical acumen are amply displayed as THE ESSENTIAL BILLY JOEL moves from the introspective "Piano Man" to the sardonic, self-parodic "The Entertainer," from the Springsteen-like rocker "Only the Good Die Young" to the McCartneyesque "Dont Ask Me Why." As Joel's career progressed, his work became increasingly occupied with socio-political issues, as evidenced by disc two's "We Didn't Start the Fire" and "The Downeaster 'Alexa. Essential Billy Joel CD music is a 2-disc set with 36 songs.   ...See Full Description

You decide
In all there are seven songs that aren't included on the first three greatest hits CD. None of the seven songs seem to be the "greatest" of his hits, so if you already have the first three CDs then I wouldn't recomend this CD.

Delightful?
A heart on bended knee. No, wait. Not quite! There are some exclusions to mention on here! I'm only gracing this compilation only recently.

Definately still Rock and Roll to Mr. Joel.
This has a lot of great hits on it, like, "Piano Man", "My Life", "It's Still Rock and Roll to me", "You may be Right", "A Matter of Trust", "We Didn't Start the Fire", and others.

Not as essential as promised
Would you buy a collection of essential Beatles' hits without "She Loves You"? Billy's new essentail collection is missing the three essential tracks that helped his career prosper, "Big Shot", "Pressure" and "This Is The Time".

Essential Billy Joel buy CD music THE VERY BEST OF includes a 46-page booklet with pictures and track information. "Hole In The World" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. The Eagles' founders Don Henley and Glenn Frey were forthright in their desire to bring then-emerging country rock to new heights of commercial success. Formed in Los Angeles in 1971, they learned from their observations of the scene around them, and subsequently took their music to the top of the charts. They stayed there throughout the '70s, becoming synonymous with the sound of Southern California rock. The band's first hit was with a song by Jackson Browne, and their first album also included a cover of "Ol' 55" by Tom Waits, but the bulk of the material they're known for was penned by Henley and Frey. This two-disc set wisely expands the original VERY BEST OF collection with important album tracks that have also long been band staples and favorites (such as the aforementioned Waits tune and a number of other songs from their pre-platinum first three releases). As is often the common industry-wide practice, there's also a new song, "Hole in the World." A 2-CD retrospective from the multiplatinum superstars whose 1976 "Greatest Hits" is the #1 album of all time! Special Limited Edition bonus DVD included with a music video, outtakes from the video and backstage pass to Farewell 1. Initial pressings included a bonus DVD. Recorded between 1972 & 2003. The Eagles: Bernie Leadon (vocals, guitar, slide guitar, pedal steel guitar, banjo, mandolin); Don Felder (vocals, guitar, slide guitar, steel guitar, keyboards); Glen Frey, Joe Walsh (vocals, guitar, slide guitar, keyboards); Randy Meisner (vocals, guitar, guitarron, bass); Don Henley (vocals, drums, percussion); Timothy B. Schmit (vocals, bass). Producers: Glyn Johns, Bill Szymczyk, Eagles, Elliot Scheiner, Rob Jacobs. Compilation producer: The Eagles. Eagles: Don Felder (vocals, guitars, slide guitar, steel guitar, keyboards); Bernie Leadon (vocals, guitars, slide guitar, pedal steel guitar, banjo, mandolin); Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh (vocals, guitars, slide guitar, keyboards); Randy Meisner (vocals, guitarron, bass guitar); Timothy B. Essential Billy Joel songs Initial pressings of this first edition contain a bonus disc. Recorded between 1970 & 2002. Includes liner notes by Paul Gambaccini. Greatest Hits 1970-2002 is a nearly flawless double-disc set commemorating Elton John's three-decade career. Disc one features what may arguably be John's most essential work: Seeing songs such as "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Candle in the Wind," and "Bennie and the Jets" -- not to mention "Your Song," "Rocket Man," and "Tiny Dancer" -- lined up back to back reaffirms just how diverse, and yet universal, his songwriting talent is. Disc two finds this talent maturing gracefully into the '80s, '90s, and beyond, touching on pop gems like "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," "I'm Still Standing," and "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues" as well as his Lion King classic "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" and the Aida duet "Written in the Stars" with LeAnn Rimes. The collection also finds room for the highlights of his most recent albums, including Made in England's "Believe" and "Blessed," The Big Picture's "Something About the Way You Look Tonight," and Songs from the West Coast's "This Train Don't Stop Here Anymore." For most casual fans, Greatest Hits 1970-2002 will replace the need for collections such as Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits, Vol. 2, and Greatest Hits, Vol. 3, although these collections are still worthwhile as of-their-time retrospectives of John's work. ~ Heather Phares All tracks have been digitally remastered.

Essential Billy Joel album for sale East, Leland Sklar, Cornelius Mims, John Giblin, Freddie Washington (bass); Sheila E.(percussion); Peter Gabriel, Sting, Marva King (background vocals). In the early '80s, Collins took a break from the helm of Genesis to inaugurate a solo career that abandoned his group's art-rock agenda for a mainstream pop approach. In the ensuing years, the king of Nice Guy Pop established himself as one of the world's premier top 40 balladeers, as evidenced by the wall-to-wall hits that make up the balance of this appropriately titled collection. HITS walks the listener through the smooth, well-produced Collins hits that have worked their way into the collective consciousness of radio listeners (even casual ones) over the years. There are majestic power ballads ("I Wish It Would Rain") to light-hearted, infectious pop-funk ("Sussudio") and moody atmospheric pieces ("In the Air Tonight") HITS represents the full range of material this prolific performer has turned out over the course of his wildly successful career. Essential Billy Joel CD music Initial pressings of THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION included a limited edition bonus disc featuring four previously unreleased tracks. Recorded between November 1964 and June 1982. Includes liner notes by Matt Kent and Andy Neill. When it comes to a ground-breaking, iconic band like the Who, dubbing an anthology THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION is no small claim. The kicker here is that it happens to be the truth. Without venturing into the realm of the box set, there's never been such a definitive batch of Who tunes all under one roof before. Virtually all the bases are covered here, from such attitude-laden mid-'60s mod anthems as "My Generation" and "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere" to the conceptual expansiveness of TOMMY-era tunes ("I'm Free," "See Me Feel Me"). We get the full-on long-haired, bare-chested glory of the early '70s ("Won't Get Fooled Again") as well as the tapered, synth-flecked smartness of the early '80s ("Eminence Front," "You Better You Bet." For someone looking for an entry point into the work of this larger-than-life group, or just somebody who wants a great all-purpose who disc, THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION is truly a case of truth in advertising. Get one. Keith Moon, Kenney Jones (drums). Additional Tracks The Who: Roger Daltrey (vocals, harmonica); Pete Townsend (guitar, keyboards, background vocals); John Entwistle (bass, background vocals); Producers include: Shel Talmy, The Who, Kit Lambert, Glyn Johns, Jon Astley. Compilation producers: Andy McKaie, Bill Levenson.

Essential Billy Joel songs Missing in action for much of the 1990s, Stevie Wonder is a living legend whose consistent creative output is sorely missed. THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION provides a snapshot overview of Wonder's stellar legacy starting back in 1963 as a teen musical prodigy with the exuberant "Fingertips Part 2." This jubilant tune, showcasing Wonder's much-touted facility on the chromatic harmonica, is a powerful harbinger of things to come. Along the way are classics that find this Michigan native going from being a one-man Motown hit machine to a young artist whose vision eschewed singles-based sensibilities for album-long artistic statements. Wonder's '60s gems include "I Was Made to Love Her," "For Once in My Life," and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours." Of course, his '70s work is just as stunning, particularly socially conscious numbers like "Higher Ground" and "Living for the City." Equally stellar if less political are this legend's tributes to Duke Ellington ("Sir Duke"), Bob Marley ("Master Blaster [Jammin']"), and Caribbean music in general ("Boogie on Reggae Woman"). THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION is an excellent primer for both die-hard fan and passing admirer of Stevie Wonder's genius. Compact selection of great early hits from the former boy wonder of the keyboard and resident genius of Berry Gordy's Motown Records. Recorded between 1963 & 1985. Includes liner notes by Scott Regan. Compilation producers: Harry Weinger, Jeff Moskow. Personnel: Stevie Wonder (vocals, harmonica, piano, keyboards, programming); Malcolm Cecil, Robert Margouleff (Moog synthesizer, programming); Charles Brewer, John Fischbach (programming); Gloria Barley, Jim Gilstrap, Lani Groves (background vocals). Liner Note Authors: Scott Regen; Harry Weinger; Scott Regan. Arrangers: Clarence Paul; Stevie Wonder. Personnel includes: Stevie Wonder (vocals, various instruments); Luther Vandross (vocals); Malcolm Cecil, Robert Margouleff (programming); Gloria Barley, Lani Groves, Jim Gilstrap, The Jackson 5 (background vocals). Producers include: Berry Gordy, Henry Cosby, Clarence Paul, Stevie Wonder, William "Mickey" Stevenson.
