| | Phoenecia Odd Job Discrimination CD Phoenecia Discography of CDs
Two years on from their first EP of "OddJob" remixes, Phoenecia released this six-track collection featuring the work of Matmos, Adult., and Prefuse 73, plus fellow Schematic producers Otto Von Schirach and Jeswa. Openers Matmos provide the highlight with an ever-changing epic of a remake, followed by Adult.'s one-note robotic remix. While Von Schirach's is an overly familiar collage of brittle beats and chaotic percussion, the Jeswa track explores more intriguing, introverted territory. Though OddJob Discrimination isn't up to the high level of the original OddJobs EP, it's still of interest to Schematic obsessives. ~ John Bush Odd Job Discrimination Music Phoenecia Odd Job Discrimination Songs | 1. | Odd Job - (The Climactic Battle Scene Between Rom & Josh Version) |

Odd Job Discrimination album
$14.29 This is an enhanced audio CD which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
This EP served as a teaser to Nobukazu Takemura's album Hoshi No Koe. While his previous album Scope focused on his serious and abstract side, the mood here is more playful and similar in sprit to the music Takemura has made as Child's View. The title track is actually a straightforward pop song, complete with charming, awkward beats and vocodered vocals. The childlike and cartoony nature of "Sign" gives the song an innocent feel that's still vaguely melancholy, and Takemura's dense, multi-layered production is a treat for lovers of pure sound. "Cogwheel" combines disorienting ...
| | Funki Porcini Fast Asleep CD (2002)
Odd Job Discrimination CD music
$14.49 Chillout albums were all the rage during the early 2000s, but despite the attention, no one had made a record quite like Funki Porcini's Fast Asleep since the glory days of ambient techno, when the Orb's "A Huge Ever-Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules From the Centre of the Ultraworld" merged Tangerine Dream, the Mad Professor, and Larry Heard into a collage of pastoral bliss. Fast Asleep, though obviously functional in a variety of contexts, wasn't designed to soundtrack trips back from the clubs or lazy nights at home with friends, and as such, it neatly side-steps the conscious hipness that usually compromises chillout records. James Braddell, a downbeat veteran stretching back more than a decade, crafted Fast Asleep to move in and out of its framework, with lengthy transitions introducing -- or deconstructing -- virtually every production. Similar to another Orb classic, U.F.Orb, the track markers aren't immediately obvious, though as the record progresses, it's easier to spot songs amidst the dark, film noir ...

Odd Job Discrimination music CDs
$13.05 On their second album Presents Exclusively Talentmaker, Optiganally Yours craft more dreamy, whimsical indie pop from ancient synths. This time, as the title suggests, the group works only with the Talentmaker, a keyboard that triggers celluloid discs with various sound effects and instruments recorded on them. The instrument's limitations work as a springboard for Rob Crow and Pea Hix's creativity; for example, the anti-jock-rock anthem "I'm Bad At Sports" is arranged for a tinny banjo and a bowling alley. However, the album isn't an excersise in quirkiness for quirkiness' sake -- though "Poodleman," a song about a nightmarish mullet, is reminiscent of They Might Be Giants' early work, and the very clever "Last Ride of the Pony Express" sounds like the theme from "Bonanza" ...
| | Lappetites Before The Libretto CD (2005) (Import)
Odd Job Discrimination songs
$15.15 Founded by U.K. artist Kaffe Matthews as an open-ended collective pursuing various creative goals, the Lappetites first appeared on record with Before the Libretto, named because it came about, as the brief liner notes indicate, "whilst researching the opera." The four-person lineup -- Matthews, French musician Eliane Radigue, noted German performer AGF, and Japanese composer Ryoko Kuwajima -- subsume themselves completely into the Lappetites identity throughout, as no individual song, musical, ...
