Andrew McCarthy, Barry Bostwick, Jonathan Silverman, Terry Kiser - Director: Robert Klane This sequel to the hit comedy "Weekend at Bernie's" opens the day after the original film ended. Insurance executives Larry and Richard return to the office after their madcap weekend to find that their employers suspect them of having helped the dead Bernie embezzle $2 million from the company. Larry and Richard's attempt to prove themselves innocent sets off a series of increasingly ludicrous events, which involve stealing Bernie's body from the morgue and spiriting it off to the Virgin Islands. There Larry and Rich utilize the services of the local voodoo priestess to raise Bernie from the dead -- with unexpected and hilarious results. Corporate peons Larry (Andrew McCarthy) and Richard (Jonathan Silverman) discover the key to their the safety deposit box of Bernie (Terry Kiser), their dead former boss. The box, located in the Virgin Islands, reportedly contains 2 million dollars. Unfortunately, company security guard Hummel (Barry Bostwick) also wants the money, as do a gang of criminals who try to get the location out of Bernie through the use of voodoo! Larry and Richard take a working vacation to the tropical local and find that, once again, Bernie may not be as dead as anybody thinks! Weekend At Bernie's II Movie Review Average Rating: (3.5 out of 5 stars) Great Sequel Funnier than the first. Submitted by sroberts (Gardena, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Maybe even funnier than "W.A.B. I" !!! I loved this movie! The perfect follow up to Weekend At Bernies, it was plain old goofy, silly, & best of all funny. The 2 guys developing a 'thing' for the goat was hilarious. And who can ever get tired of watching Bernie dance in the conga line?!
Both these movies should be on everyones 'Favorite Silly Movie' list! Submitted by stellabee1 (Waretown, NJ) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Watch Bernie's I & II Together. While this sequel is very funny indeed, and can stand alone as an individual movie, it is best if you have seen Weekend at Bernie's I before you watch this,or,if you saw the first one ages ago, then buy both DVDs now,and watch the first one again. It will make the sequel even more fresh and funny as you'll be right up to date with what's going on,as weird as it all is. Weekend At Bernie's II review
$20.79 BEHIND ENEMY LINES: On a reconnaissance flight over eastern Europe, disillusioned naval pilot Chris Burnett (Owen Wilson) and his partner, Stackhouse (Gabriel Macht), photograph a scene they were not meant to see. When their plane is shot down and Stackhouse is quickly captured and executed, Burnett must struggle to survive in unfamiliar hostile territory with a cold-blooded assassin and hundreds of enemy troops on his heels. Meanwhile, on an American battleship in the Adriatic Sea, Burnett's commanding officer, Admiral Reigart (Gene Hackman), attempts to negotiate his soldier's return amidst tense political and military maneuvers. Soon Burnett discovers exactly why he's being hunted, making his situation--and Reigert's actions--even more perilous.
Benefiting from Wilson's straightforward performance and Hackman's typically engaging presence, BEHIND ENEMY LINES proves itself with a solid story (loosely based on real-life events) and excellent action sequences. Shot in a cold, icy light, John Moore's film features a nail-biting aerial chase, a tense race across a grenade-filled wasteland, and a stunningly explosive final battle. Wilson, typically cast in quirky comedic roles, is an unlikely action hero who turns out to be the movie's secret weapon. By avoiding excessive macho posturing, BEHIND ENEMY LINES is smarter, more exciting, and better looking than most Hollywood military thrillers.
ANTWONE FISHER: The true story of ANTWONE FISHER tracks a remarkable young man on the path to recovery from physical and sexual abuse. Antwone Fisher (Derek Luke) is a young Navy sailor who is on verge of getting booted from the military because of his volatile temper when he is ordered to mandatory sessions with psychiatrist Dr. Jerome Davenport (Denzel Washington). After a few strained sessions, ...
