Tull has taken a quantum leap into rock with this album, leaving Abrahams' Blues-Jazz behind. Most of the songs are wonderful.

||A Breakthrough Album for Jethro Tull|
"Stand Up", was a ground-breaking album for Jethro Tull. This classic second album marks the debut of guitarist Martin Barre who has been with the group and is still with them today.

||My First Album ...ever|
I bought my vinyl copy of Stand Up in Century City at a tiny stoner record store in 1969 - just as it came.

This album turned me on to Tull, Ian and his energetic flute playing!! Never heard anything quite like JT before! "A new day yesterday" has yet to be equalled by any other band with it's power rock riff even though it's a little underrated.
