Uncle Moe's Space Ranch: Brett Garsed, T.J. Helmerich (guitar); Scott Kinsey (keyboards); Gary Willis (bass); Dennis Chambers (drums). Additional personnel includes: Djemel Chergui, Virgil Donati. Engineers include: T.J. Helmerich, Caio Amnon, Mehdi Hassine. Recorded at Musicians Institute Studios, Hollywood, California. Personnel: Virgil Donati (drums). Audio Mixer: T.J. Helmerich. Recording information: Musicians Institute, Studio A, Hollywood, CA. The fourth offering from the guitar partners Brett Garsed and T.J. Helmerich finds the duo surrounded by some of fusion's best. The music has a distinctive Tribal Tech influence thanks to the presence of bassist Gary Willis, but the guitarists' distinctive voices make this a unique sounding quintet. Garsed's long flowing lines are complemented nicely by Helmerich's experimental sonic adventures, which are cohesively held together by the excellent supporting cast. Drummer Virgil Donati makes a memorable guest appearance on "SighBorg," while fusion master Dennis Chambers propels the band on the remaining tracks. The selections include the full-throttle fusion of "SighBorg," the metal-ish "Swarming Goblets," and the Zappa-influenced "I Want to Be a Pine Cone," and there's even some slide guitar on "A Thousand Days." While by no means groundbreaking, this is an enjoyable recording from two of fusion's most intelligent torchbearers. ~ Robert Taylor Uncle Moe's Space Ranch Music Uncle Moe's Space Ranch Songs | 1. | Colliding Chimps |

| Uncle Moe's Space Ranch Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Class act. Willis and Chambers pump away underneath the twin guitars of Garsed and TJ.
The slide playing is totally inspired.
Kinsey backs up and shines with solos that are always innovative but as always there's a nod to Zawinul.
We deserve more of this.

Great Stuff! This is a really good record that just gets better with each listening. All the playing is A+ (just check out Brett's slide work on "A Thousand Days"...enough said!) and the songs are more than just an excuse for solo flights by the individual players. Very enjoyable disc... Submitted by braxtonadams (Austin, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
New Guitar Horizons This album contains some of the most incredible jazz/rock crossover music produced in years. Using half of the already amazing Tribal Tech as their backdrop (Gary Willis on bass & Scott Kinsey on keys) and the drive of drummer Dennis Chambers, Garsed and Helmerich take their respective guitars to places you've rarely heard, their differing techniques making for an interesting comparison. This music is guaranteed to blow the cobwebs out of your ears. Fantastic! Submitted by a reviewer (Tetbury, Glos, UK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Utterly Inspiring Icredible. What can I say? When these guys play, it's like you can hear decades of dedication to music. Dedication to virtuosity, yes, but it's more than that - dedication to expanding musical boundaries, challenging old perceptions and patterns. The sparkle of the genius of the individual performances is outshone only by the brilliance of the whole. A very challenging and refreshing listen. If you play guitar, drums, keys or bass, you need this CD. If you don't play and instrument, this CD will make you wish you did. Buy it immediately, whoever you are. Uncle Moe Rules!

No, this isn't a sister project to Wang Chung, it's actually a blistering and very trippy jazz fusion blast by three old vets who've been shedding over the years in Robben Ford's band. The cover of the disc features psychedelic art and the trio's names -- drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, guitarist Ford, and bassist Jimmy Haslip -- in alphabetical ...

Uncle Moe's Space Ranch MP3 Album
$13.49 (MP3 Available for Download) Self-proclaimed purveyors of "funeral music," the British metal band Winters offers up a bold set of doom-laden tracks on its 2007 full-length debut, BLACK CLOUDS IN TWIN GALAXIES. Sounding like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club if it took its cues from Black Sabbath instead of Jesus & Mary Chain, the U.K. trio makes subtle yet intriguing nods to the shoegazer set and 1960s pop, as best evinced on the stomping "Fried" and the dark, dreamy "Mark My Word." Some bands choose names that are quite misleading. That's fine if the band wants to be ironic (Barenaked Ladies, for example), but in some cases, bands come up with names based on what they think they sound like or wish they sounded like instead of what they actually sound like. Winters, however, is a band with a very appropriate name; Black Clouds in Twin Galaxies, their first full-length album, really does sound like a dark, cloudy, bleak winter day. This British outfit essentially falls into the doom metal category, and Black Clouds in Twin Galaxies maintains a dark, melancholy, pessimistic outlook. Of course, dark lyrics are to be expected in doom metal, which has been influenced by Black Sabbath more than any other band. ...

Audio Mixers: Michael Davis; John Jaszcs; Robert Swope. The fourth album by energetic praise singer Smokie Norful is an electrifying live album recorded before a rapturous crowd. Delivering on all of the passion, charm, and honestly of his earlier albums, Norful bonds with his audience like a pastor with his congregation. Highlights include the single "Justified" and an outstanding duet with singer Heather Headley, "Jesus Is Love." The concert medium particularly suits an energetic gospel performer like Smokie Norful, as was apparent on his 2003 release Limited Edition, but ...
