A spectacle beyond anything you've ever witnessed. An experience beyond everything you've ever imagined. Behind the red velvet curtain, the ultimate seduction of your senses is about to begin. Welcome to the "Moulin Rouge!" Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor sing, dance and scale the heights of passionate abandon in the year's most talked-about movie from visionalry director Baz Luhrmann ("William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet," "Strictly Ballroom"). Enter a tantalizing world that celebrates truth, beauty, freedom and above all things, love. 2-disc Set Cross LA BOHÈME with CABARET, throw in a little bit of RENT, and you might almost begin to describe Baz Luhrmann's visually opulent, fast-paced, funny, heartrending MOULIN ROUGE. The film, which premiered as the opener to the 2001 Cannes Film Festival, is a musical set in 1899 Paris at the notorious Montmartre cabaret club, the Moulin Rouge. Directed by Luhrmann (WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S ROMEO AND JULIET, STRICTLY BALLROOM), the movie stars Nicole Kidman as the high-kicking courtesan, Satine; Ewan McGregor as the sensitive poet, Christian; and John Leguizamo as the flamboyant artist and matchmaker, Toulouse-Lautrec. Luhrmann's use of eclectic lighting and saturated color, the fast zooms and quick cuts of his camera, and his magnificent costumes and sets perfectly capture the excess and freneticism for which the Moulin Rouge was famous. Beautifully led by McGregor and Kidman, the flawless supporting cast brings to life the culture of belle époque Paris with magical realism. Above all, the anachronistic, energetic contemporary soundtrack is what drives MOULIN ROUGE, with popular songs by L'il Kim, Christina Aguilera, David Bowie, and Beck--as well as Kidman and McGregor adding their own superb vocals. Theatrical Release: MAY 18, 2001 (LA/NY)

Moulin Rouge Movie Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Nicole is stunning It took me a few times of watching this movie to really enjoy it, I had a hard time of the incorporation of modern music to old themes but I have since come around to really appreciate Baz's vision. Cor Blimey! Fantastic film from Baz. I was a little concerned regarding the singing voices of the two stars but they pull it off magnificently. The film is enhanced by Craig Armstrong who is surely the greatest composer of film music at present.
I bought it from the States as it's not due to be released here in England until May.
I saw the film at the Cinema last summer and was reticent about going at first as I thought it maybe too much of a "chick flick" for me. I'm glad my girlfriend persuaded me to go. I loved every minute.
A camp classic which also has Kylie in it! What more can I say?

the best dvd ever made!!! i own over 150 dvd's, of all types of movies, old and new, but, moulin rouge, is without a doubt, the greatest dvd i have ever owned.
no dvd can match the sheer magnitude of extras that this one has,
and, the video and audio quality on this dvd, has no equal,
this is a movie you can watch time and time again, so, in short,
no collection is complete without moulin rouge. Submitted by a reviewer (orlando, florida) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Another low for contemporary cinema! After enduring this irritating excuse for a film, with its faux emotion, spectacular vacuousness and unredeemable lack of taste and wit, I can summarise this tawdry experience with brevity. This is nothing more than the saddest fodder for a dumbed-down, karaoke society. Submitted by a reviewer (United Kingdom) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Moulin Rouge review
$9.85 Star John Travolta revisits the grinning villain territory he explored in BROKEN ARROW and FACE/OFF with this stylish, supercharged techno-thriller. He plays Gabriel, a charismatic, fast-living mystery man who, with help from his right-hand woman, Ginger (Halle Berry), recruits ex-con and former master hacker Stan (Hugh Jackman) to aid in a plan to steal billions from a secret government bank account. Stan reluctantly agrees to help in order to finance the legal battle for custody of his young daughter (Camryn Grimes). Meanwhile an FBI computer crimes specialist (Don Cheadle) is determined to find out what's about to go down, and plans to use Stan to find out.
The movie amply earns its keep by cleverly zig-zagging away from audience's expectations and delivering many clever, pulse-pounding action set pieces--including an incredible opening explosion, a car chase through downtown Los Angeles replete with blazing machine guns, and a spectacular airborne climax. With the help of a propulsive electronica score by DJ Paul Okenfold, director Dominic Sena (GONE IN 60 SECONDS) lays down lots of style, and Travolta is ...

Moulin Rouge movie DVD
$15.15 Director Michael Bay (ARMAGEDDON, THE ROCK) uses a tragic romantic triangle to set the stage for the infamous Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in this epic tale of love, loss, and patriotism. When Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale), a beautiful Navy nurse, meets dashing ace Army fighter pilot Rafe (Ben Affleck), the two fall madly in love, only to be separated abruptly when he is called upon to help fight the war in Europe. Unforeseen circumstances lead Evelyn into the arms of Danny (Josh Hartnett), another fighter pilot and Rafe's best friend since childhood. In the meantime, the Japanese military is planning the surprise early morning raid on Hawaii that will pull the United States into World War II. Spectacular special effects vividly recreate the attack in devastating detail as bombs explode, torpedoes shoot through the water, and bullets fly, shaking tranquil Pearl Harbor to its core. Bay deftly captures the patriotism and the loss of innocence of the young men and women who were suddenly thrust into the war. Cuba Gooding, Jr., Jon Voight, Alec Baldwin and Mako also star in this tribute to both the fallen and the survivors of one of the most horrific tragedies ever to occur on American soil.
Rafe and Danny are childhood friends who both dream of flying. As the world becomes embroiled in World War II in the early 1940's, Rafe and Danny sign on with the United States armed forces. Eager to participate in combat, Rafe is compelled to join the British air fight against the Nazis, leaving his girlfriend, beautiful army nurse Evelyn behind. When Evelyn ...

Moulin Rouge review
$13.59 The Macc Lads took their name from their town of origin, Macclesfield, Cheshire, in England, and they embodied the spirit of the northern, macho, hard-drinking pub scene found there, manifesting this ethos in its most extreme form. Together from 1981 till 1995, the band shocked fans and garnered a devoted following due to the extreme levels of filth and vulgarity present in all their music. Their live shows were characterized most often by wild showmanship and nasty, drunken antics, which only made audiences love them the more. This documentary is comprised of live clips and promotional footage of the band in concert and backstage at several notorious venues, as well as their famous performance on the back of a wagon in Blackpool. The track list includes "Twenty Pints," "Now He's a Poof," "Scabby Women," "Sweaty Betty," "Dan's Underpants," and the song that started it all, "Boddies."
Three Bears is made up of promo clips and live clips shot at various venues around the UK - the Carleton Club Morecambe, Fulham Greyhound, Goldwyns Suite in Birmingham and the infamous impromptu gig from the back of a wagon on the promenade in Blackpool. Three Bears features various line-ups backing permanent ...
