Planet of the Apes video This movie was a "chair gripper" from start to finish. The music and action footage were done paying great attention to detail and timing. Growing up with the originals I feel this creation was a compliment. It is a must see for anyone who grew up in the 70's.

| Planet perfection !!
Planet of the Apes film Tim Burton keeps coming up with fabulous eye candy for film goers to soak in. This looks better than when I saw it at the cinema, details are clearer and the soundtrack is tremendous. A great demonstrator for your system, well worth buying.

| 2001 special effects/costumes could be better
Planet of the Apes review The movie was okay, but the special effects and costumes were not that impressive, given some of the computer animation out there these days that could have been used and apparently wasn't. The story could have been better developed, also - just wasn't that convincing to me anyway. Your call....

| Great makeup but so what ??
The Heston 1968 version was superb, especially with its surprise ending. The Burton 2001 version however, is pointless, not to mention a dumb ending that raises more questions than answers. I don't get it.

| Great movie ! Great re-make !
I saw The Planet of the Apes ages ago, I still hold a VHS copy from back then. I am not big on re-makes, but I am a big Tim Burton fan so I had to give it a shot. Tho the movie keeps the basics from the original, it does have a 21st century movie and of course the Buron touch ; dark photography and psicologically interesting, if you will, characters, and the sarcasm on the human mind and body wasn't missing either. Ending is different and great, tho it kinda gives the same message, we came to an end. Great movie, great re-make. A must in you collection.
