This 18-track set presents rocked-out tunes by the Scottish metal band the Almighty, including "Lay Down the Law," "Hell to Pay," and "Devil's Toy."
This Scottish hard rock quartet was formed in 1988, and along with the likes of Little Angels and Quireboys, The Almighty spearheaded a revival in British heavy rock during the late 80's. They gained critical acclaim with their first album, produced by Andy Taylor of Duran Duran fame, which was a solid collection of metal anthems spiked with punk attitude. The band also earned themselves a reputation as a formidable live unit appearing at both Donnington and Milton Keynes Bowl supporting the likes of Metallica and Iron Maiden. Their set included a stunning cover of Bachman Turner Overdrive's stand, 'You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet' (included here). Almighty Wild And Wonderful Songs | 1. | Destroyed | $0.99 | |

Wild And Wonderful music CDs
$13.39 It's kind of surprising -- and perhaps disturbing -- that Anal Cunt, aka A.C., is still recording at the end of the '90s, since one might have thought they had exhausted their basic premise. 1998's Picnic of Love was a departure into smart-assed, falsetto-sung acoustic ballads, but It Just Gets Worse is a return to the standard A.C. sound. Half the fun of any A.C. release is reading the 40 or 50-odd song titles the group comes up with for their gonzo blasts of noise, since there's always at least some inspired lowbrow humor to be found. However, It Just Gets Worse is the first time they've seemed outright stupid. Granted, that doesn't mean it's never funny -- A.C. can crack some pretty creative stupid jokes -- but the subject matter ...

| | Trapeze CD (1970)
Wild And Wonderful album
$13.05 By 1975, Trapeze were a long, long way from the exquisite pastures of their debut album -- and a long way, too, from the days when the Moody Blues could be ranked among their biggest fans, as well as their employers (the band was originally signed to the Moodies' Threshold label). But maybe hoping for at least a splash of that old magic to resurface, the band titled its final LP after its first -- plain ol' Trapeze -- and the bandmembers did their best to look their imminent demise full in the face. Maybe they didn't know what fate had in store for them as they recorded this, but Trapeze is still a dour little disc, desperately missing the funk infusions of Glenn Hughes and, for the most part, overshadowed even by its disappointing predecessor. "Star Breaker," the opening cut, is probably the best thing here; for the most part, though, Trapeze is lumpen rock by rote, dull and dismissed by all but the most desperately faithful. ~ Dave Thompson
Trapeze were the first act signed by the Moody Blues to their newly founded Threshold Records label, and remain the most substantial talent -- along with Nicky James -- ever to pass through that company's roster, apart from the Moodies themselves. Those listeners who only know the subsequent albums by Trapeze may be surprised by this debut effort, the sole recording left behind by the original five-piece version of the band. With Moody Blues bassist John Lodge producing a lineup that included ex-Montanas lead singer John Jones and guitarist/keyboardist Terry Rowley alongside singer/guitarist Mel Galley, bassist Glenn Hughes, and drummer Dave Holland, late of Finders Keepers, the sounds here don't closely resemble the hard-rocking work of the subsequent trio -- there are lush choruses, psychedelic interludes, and hook-laden romantic ballads scattered throughout this record. Yet that trio, of Hughes, Galley, and Holland, is pumping out high-energy music within the context of psychedelic pop/rock throughout this album, which comes off as a much higher-wattage alternative to the Moody Blues. And in some respects, this album also closely ...
| | Teenage Crush, Vol. 4 CD (2004)
Wild And Wonderful CD music
$14.55 Vol. 4 of the Teenage Crush series offers another 28 tracks from the mildest side of late-'50s/early-'60s rock & roll, slanted toward (but not entirely devoted to) teen idol-style singers of the era. A bunch of these are big, familiar hits -- ...

Wild And Wonderful music CDs
$10.15 'We all come to a point in our lives where we see the signs, and are given a choice of where we want to go. We can make a choice to make things better or to fuck things up. That's the moment! between the warning and the war'. ~ vocalist, LaurenSiX was formed in 2001, in Orange County, CA. Their first release was an EP called "When The Beauty's Gone" (1605 Records). SiX played all over America and Canada throughout 2001-2004; with the likes of Clutch, Gwar, Dope, Hed Pe, Saliva, Coal Chamber, and countless other local and regional bands. In 2004, the band returned to their rehearsal/recording studio, "The Asylum", to cook up new music for their full length debut. It became the dark, heavy groove, metal onslaught, titled, "The Price Of Faith", which hit stores in February, 2005 (1605 Records). Once again they toured their asses off all over America, and even dippin' down into Mexico; rockin' with everyone from Dry Kill Logic, Slipknot, Fear Factory, Chimira, Nevermore, Arch Enemy & a ton of other great bands. They ended almost 2 years of touring and entered the rehearsal studio again, to start writing a new album. 27 songs were written, and many of the new songs were debuted live in front of sold out shows with Clutch, legendary punk gods the Germs, & Disturbed. Yet the album was far from finished. SiX first began to record the album up in a fancy Hollywood studio, but then eventually scrapped the entire project to start completely over in a buddy's small dungeon like studio. They worked sometimes up to 15 hours a day, sleeping in the studio to get it done. ...

Wild And Wonderful music CDs
$16.45 LisaBe is currently a solo artist, writing, recording, performing and mixing her own music in the genres of post punk, epic, industrial, gothic, rock, alternative, ambient, alien, strange, or whatever she feels at the moment. Her present album "Waking Sleep" is a conceptual album written with a purpose reflecting various states of mind and consciousness in the genres of sci fi, post punk, epic, industrial, alternative, gothic, psychological, philosophical and spiritual. Some songs tell a Sci fi-ish or otherworldly epic story. "Contactees" is a bit industrial and gothic sounding and comes from the perspective of a being who has been around since the dawn of time and is viewing the state of the human condition with it's wars, negativity, etc. and wondering how it can change. Perhaps it can change by spreading about a nanobyte infection that will change the state of human consciousness... She keeps repeating "Remember Yourself" Perhaps that is another way to change the state of human consciousness (for each person to become self aware) since humans keep repeating the same mistakes with war and religion and the powers that be repeatedly over time. "Goddess Inanna" is an epic song from the perspective of a goddess who existed to the ancient Sumerians. LisaBe is singing in ancient Sumerian in the beginning and middle of the song. She found translations of ancient Sumerian texts where Inanna is speaking. Much of her lyrics in Goddess Inanna are Goddess Inannas actual words or translations. "Everything's Connected" sees the large view of The Universe and all within it and it's interconnectedness. "Higher Emotion" is a moving, soft yet rhythmic song which portrays a state of heart and being that occurs when one is introduced to another human who has reached a clear, self awareness that lightens and raises the level of being to those one is in contact with."I Lost Myself" has a gothic rock edge and is a search for ones being and inner I that leads one to ones higher self. "Interval" represents the state one can get into when one is not feeling connected to anything and has reached an interval and feels lost almost to the point of madness. "Interval Shock" portrays the state of mind one can get into when one gets so tired of feeling lost one becomes frantic to the point of becoming ...
