Princiipally recorded at Ramport Studios, London, England in 1977. Includes liner notes by Judas Priest.
Heavy metal neophytes tend to assume that Black Sabbath was the only true heavy metal band of the '70s, but Judas Priest was rocking and riffing with the best of them throughout much of that decade too. In fact, it was such albums as 1977's SIN AFTER SIN that were to heavily influence future thrash metal bands.
Arguably, this is Judas Priest's most consistent album. SIN AFTER SIN's metal version of Joan Baez's "Diamonds and Rust" has become a Priest classic; likewise the album opener, "Sinner," "Dissident Aggressor," later covered by Slayer, and the surprisingly romantic and low-key "Last Rose of Summer." One of the band's heaviest and most focused works, SIN AFTER SIN leaves most so-called hard rockers of the '70s sounding like the Osmonds.
Digitally remastered by Jon Astley.

Judas Priest Sin After Sin Songs Sin After Sin Music Review Average Rating: (4.2 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Mandatory JP The boys are trying to impress the new label or something here, as they're definitely up on the spit shine. Halford's voice is a marvel here, I'm not sure it was ever any better or more wide in scope. I would have given this a 5 if they'd have ruffed up the guitars a bit, but I like this one a lot as is. Required listening material for the serious Priest fan. Priest's work in Sin after sin is part of the foundation on which their best material is based on. Definitely required listening for the serious fan. Submitted by a reviewer (Brooklyn, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
lesser known preist album I never listened to much 70's preist, but I bought this because it was cheap. I'm glad I did. Nobody ever mentions this one with Screaming for Vengeance or British Steel, but if it's not on par with those it's pretty close. This album defined their "signature sound" that would be hear d on all of the classic 80's preist records. The dual guitar attack really shines on this one. Sinner, Call for the Preist, and Dissident Agressor are my favorites, but the album as a whole is pretty solid. If you like Judas Preist, you definitely have this one in your collection. Another little heavy-metal classic. The band is directed towards the esotericism and records another of its best albums. An excellent album

| | Judas Priest Painkiller CD (1990) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Sin After Sin CD music
$6.79 Judas Priest's 1990 release, PAINKILLER, shows the band returning to ferocious metal after such musical detours as 1986's TURBO. It also proved to be the British band's last outing with original singer Rob Halford. Drummer Scott Travis (ex-Racer X) makes his Priest debut here, while the sound and songwriting is comparable to thrash/speed metal.
The album-opening title track is one of Priest's heaviest and greatest songs (brace yourself before it kicks in!), and the band takes no prisoners on such titles as "Hell Patrol" and "A Touch of Evil." An inspired way to close out Halford-era Priest.
At the dawn of the '90s, Judas Priest were in sad shape: out of touch, seemingly creatively bankrupt, coming off the two worst albums of their career, and left for dead by many observers. Trying to right the ship, Priest jettisoned longtime producer Tom Allom and his tinny '80s sound, as well as the serviceable groove drumming of Dave Holland, and brought in veteran metal producer Chris Tsangarides and onetime Racer X skinsman Scott Travis. Most importantly, though, Priest stopped trying to be a stadium act in the midst of hair metal's heyday. ...
| | Judas Priest Hell Bent For Leather CD (1979)
Sin After Sin music CDs
$6.25 The British version of this release is titled KILLING MACHINE.
Principally recorded at Utopia, Basing Street and CBS Studios, London, England in 1978. Includes liner notes by Judas Priest.
Judas Priest's 1979 release, HELL BENT FOR LEATHER (titled KILLING MACHINE in Europe), continued the band's late '70s winning streak, which included such metal classics as SAD WINGS OF DESTINY, SIN AFTER SIN, and STAINED CLASS. Such deliciously heavy tracks as "Delivering the Goods," the title track, the U.K. hit single "Take On the World," and a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown)," showed that nobody could touch singer Rob Halford and company when it came to power metal. Landing a spot as the opening act on Kiss' U.S. tour the same year, Priest were gearing up for a major worldwide breakthrough--eventually becoming one of the '80s top heavy metal acts.
In 1979, Judas Priest was growing more and more influential. And as the 1980s progressed, it would become crystal clear that the British headbangers -- who influenced everyone from Iron Maiden to Metallica to King Diamond -- had every bit as great an impact ...
| | Judas Priest Unleashed In The East CD (1979)
Sin After Sin songs
$6.79 The first real transatlantic breakthrough for Judas Priest came with this most unforgiving of live albums. Playing on their early success in the Far East, Judas Priest recorded a handful of shows in Tokyo on the back of their Hell Bent For Leather album. Their magnanimous success there made for a brutal and excited showing of live favourites that translated as a riotous success with the Japanese. Their inspired cover versions of Joan Baez's "Diamonds And Rust" and Fleetwood Mac's "Green Manalishi," as well as such gruelling standards as "Exciter" and "Ripper" made for a convincing sweatpit of a show. One to raise your hands to.
Judas Priest's first official live recording has always been met with equal amounts of acclaim and controversy: acclaim from those who consider it an excellent summation of the metal legend's 1970s output, and controversy from the critics and industry insiders who criticized what they believed to be a heavily overdubbed and studio-enhanced performance, mockingly naming it Unleashed in the Studio at times. Before delving deeper into this issue, ...

$6.75 Principally recorded at Chipping Norton Studios, Cotswold, England in 1978. Includes liner notes by Judas Priest.
Culled from performances on their mammoth 1986 TURBO tour, Judas Priest's second live album, PRIEST...LIVE! was issued one year later. Including some post-BRITISH STEEL songs, PRIEST...LIVE! doesn't quite measure up to their outstanding earlier live album, 1979's UNLEASHED IN THE EAST, but it has its moments.
Unsurprisingly, plenty of selections from the TURBO album are featured, ...
